We are very pleased to announce that Olivarez Madruga is now Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill, LLP. We’ve added two new partners to the team: Keith Lemieux and Steve O’Neill. Prior to the joining of the two firms, Lemieux and O’Neill ran a successful boutique water law firm with several decades of experience in the representation of water districts. With this merger, Olivarez Madruga Lemieux O’Neill adds a team of experienced public agency attorneys and staff, and expands the range of legal services we currently offer, while maintaining our competitive rates. In a unanimous decision, the California Supreme Court ruled that texts and emails sent by public employees on their personal devices or accounts are a matter of public record if dealing with official business. For the month of May, Olivarez Madruga will be participating in its first Food from the Bar campaign, benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. For the past eight years, law firms and legal offices throughout Los Angeles County have engaged in friendly competition to see who can raise the most funds, food, and volunteer hours. Olivarez Madruga is proud to have been among the many volunteers on-site at the Los Angeles Food Bank this past Mother’s Day weekend, putting together more than 4,000 kits to be distributed to senior citizens throughout Los Angeles County. On March 16, 2016, a tree planting ceremony commemorating Managing Partner Rick R. Olivarez’s late grandfather, Congressman Edward Roybal, took place on the U.S. Capitol Grounds. Mr. Olivarez and OM Partner, Thomas M. Madruga, were proud to be in attendance at the planting of the red oak. Dignitaries there honoring the late Congressman included his former colleagues Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Minority Whip Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md.
