It was announced this week that Golden State Theatre in Downtown Old Monterey is reopening in August 2021 with a great line-up for the late summer & fall. You can purchase tickets for all shows on their website beginning May 14 at 10am. Please note: Golden State Theatre has said that any GST tickets that were purchased for postponed shows in 2020 will be honored for the new date - the Theatre will be sending out updated 2021 tickets prior to the show. If you do not see your 2020 entertainer listed yet, please be patient - they're still working on confirming reschedule dates for 2021.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you a photo from ALTA Bakery Monterey, Ca of flourless chocolate cake with rose petals & raspberries. We believe it may be perfect, but we will need your help in testing our hypothesis. So many good things to eat in Old Monterey....life is too short.

O.k., I think we can all agree that some comfort food is in order today. Lucky for us, Nacho Bizness has recently opened at 470 Alvarado Street in Downtown Old Monterey, slinging piping hot nachos & burritos for take-out. They make their own cheese sauces (dairy & vegan), pico de gallo, & guacamole in house & they only use Taco Works chips from San Luis Obispo. Gluten free options abound! All take-out packaging is green certified. https://www.oldmonterey.org/biz/nacho-bizness

SAD NEWS ALERT: Cafe Lumiere will be closing its doors on their Downtown Monterey location permanently on Sunday, Nov. 8. That means there are only a few days left to get yelled at by Tanina, grab one of Cirilo’s scones, & get ignored by Brandi. Friends of Lumiere, please consider donating to Cafe Lumiere's Employee Relief Fund. Times are tough, & Lumiere wants to make sure their employees are taken care in this transition. The money will be disbursed to employees for their rent, bills, & other necessities. https://www.gofundme.com/f/cafe-lumiere-employee-fund
