Ohlone College Deaf Studies Division has been hard at work on revamping the curriculum for our Interpreter Preparation Program in an effort to challenge long-established standards and reframe practices associated with ASL-English interpreting. The goal is to be more Deaf-Centered and inclusive and to bring in applicants of diverse backgrounds to better reflect and serve our rich and multifaceted community. With that said, we are delighted to announce that our IPP has officia...lly been rebranded as Deaf Centered Interpreting Preparation Program (DCIPP)! Please enjoy this video which provides further insight into our program. The video is 6:18 long and is in ASL with captions. Applications open on February 22, 2021! We extend a warm invitation to you to join us at Ohlone and to be a part of the very FIRST Deaf-Centered interpreting preparation program in the Nation!!!

IMAGE DESCRIPTIONS: Three images in a row: People standing in line, all with masks on, looking at the camera, picture of a person washing hands with lathered soap, clip art of people images standing side by side, arms around necks, with red slash across and yellow text: LIMIT SOCIAL GATHERINGS AND TIME SPENT IN CROWDED PLACES. They have to make a lot of phone calls to share results and provide medical advice which takes a lot of time. Please continue to be patient, give them time to give you your results. IMAGE DESCRIPTION: Image with white text Back to School with color pencils, a mechanical pencil, a ruler, and red scissors on a blue background. DR. GHALY: A lot of people are wondering if schools will open. We are now closing schools for areas that have a high number of cases. Those areas that have a lower number of cases can open schools but must follow very specific and strict guidelines. Please keep in mind, that if the numbers go up, schools may be forced to close again. I stress again and again that you MUST wear a mask, wash your hands, and keep your distance. Thank you!
