We partnered with LA Lakers Assistant Coach Phil Handy. We are, when COVID allows, going to host youth camps, coaching clinics, and invite-only NBA/WNBA camps. For now, though, we worked together to help take the 94FEETOFGAME app, which features tons of NBA and WNBA players that World Champ Handy trains, to the next level: https://bit.ly/94-feetofgame-app

Meet the Manager of Sports Performance in our South Bay location, Tyler Nunn. Nunn, a former bat boy for the Arizona Diamondbacks, is a former high-level baseball and college basketball player. He has taken that background in sports, coupled it with extensive training in sports exercise, and now leads all of Sports Academy's training and programming in South Bay. Within that, Nunn trains everyone from 12-year-olds to MLB stars to retired NFL legends. "The biggest thing sports... has taught me is no 'risk it, no biscuit," says Nunn. "You have to risk something to get something. You have to take a chance. You have to take opportunity." Nunn is passionate about sports. More than that, though, he is passionate about people, positivity, and helping others invest in themselves. "I do what I love," says Nunn, "so it doesn't feel like a job." Ever an athlete, Nunn's hidden talent is...dancing. For more about Nunn and our South Bay facility: https://sportsacademy.us/contact/

MJD in SB. @m.jonesdrew32 was always different with the ball in his hands. Now we know, thanks to his work in our South Bay location, that he's different with the weights, too. For more about our location in South Bay, reach out to [email protected].

It is our pleasure to introduce one of our Basketball Skills Trainers, Gerald Boston. Boston, a native of North Carolina, is a former D-II All-American (Barton College) and professional player overseas. He has taken that high-level experience and now utilizes it to trains boys and girls, men and women, of all ages and skills on our five courts in Thousand Oaks. Outside of just being a life-long hoophead, Boston is a man grounded in integrity.... "I pride myself on always trying to do the right thing," says Boston. "I try to look out for other people, even when I don't have to." Boston takes that energy to the court. After all, the key to working with players, says Boston, is by showing genuine interest in them and their goals. "That's the most important thing in dealing with young players. If you show them you care, they'll respond in an unbelievable fashion." When not hooping or training, Boston, who averaged over 20 ppg and shot over 40% from long range in college, can be found...bowling.
