RE: Postponing of the 100th Rowell Ranch Pro Rodeo to 2021 (Hayward, California): The 100th Rowell Ranch Pro Rodeo scheduled to take place May 15-17, 2020 will be postponed to 2021 due to COVID-19. Since its beginning the historic East Bay event has been a time for friends and neighbors to come together and celebrate our community and our history. The nonprofit rodeo association supports numerous local charities through proceeds from the event annually. During this time of uncertainty, it is critical that we focus on the safety and well-being of our friends and neighbors. We will get through this time by working together as we look forward to celebrating the 100th Rowell Ranch Pro Rodeo next year. The 100th Rowell Ranch Pro Rodeo is now scheduled for May 14-16, 2021 at the historic Rowell Ranch Rodeo Park off of Highway 580 in Hayward/Castro Valley. This month we have a very special inspirational cowboy from our very own Castro Valley. He is someone who has competed in our junior rodeo and has been the announcer for us time and time again. Ethan Lemmons is this months inspirational person. He was nominated by a young man who has felt inspired, motivated and confident by him. This is what he had to say about Ethan: My buddy Ethan Lemmons has inspired me to be a better bull rider. He has helped me by giving me tips and h...as even let me ride with him a few times to bullriding practice so I can get on and ride when I didnt have transportation. To this day he still helps me, I learn from his bullriding videos and if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be the rider I am today. In my eyes he’s a guy who always keeps working at his goal. He always pushes to succeed. I see him as a tough cowboy, a hard worker and a kind guy who likes to help others. I believe he’s the kinda of guy that when he falls it only makes him want to come back even stronger and he always gets back up! I hope he knows the big help he’s given me has had a great postive impact in helping me achieve my goals! The Junior rodeo knows that it speaks for everyone when we say what a big impact Ethan Lemmings has had on our community.
