Happy Friday! The Odyssey Virtual Gala is tomorrow night! Our live event is going to be extra special and will feature videos, keynote messages from our Head of School and others, and the very lively Fund-a-Need/Fund-a-Future. After 7 months of a very successful distance learning mode and afternoon intensive biking and hiking, Odyssey students were back on campus last week for academic classes. Afternoon coursework for science, social studies and art is still held in the field on biking and hiking trails, however, all morning academic classes are now outdoors on our park-like 3.5 acre campus which is now fully equipped as an outdoor campus! Students are thrilled to be together again for classes and are up for the outdoor challenge - After all, we ARE an expeditionary school!! Welcome back everyone - We missed you! Next up: EXPEDITION CATALINA!!

Each morning after PE, our student body begins the day by taking 5 minutes for Zazen meditation. It is a calming and centering practice that allows them to transition from physical activity to the mental calmness that best serves the rigorous academic portion of each day.

This year at Odyssey School, we will be diving deeper into ocean ecology and educating students on the science behind planetary climate change. Knowledge is power! In February, Odyssey School’s Mt. Alice Expedition on the Eastern Slope of the Sierras was a memorable one, prepping us for Mt. Whitney in early April. We are ready to climb to higher heights!
