Music and reading. I like to calm down before I workout. Read over a few things to gain new perspective on training. I tend to go with the old school masters over the Instagram influencers. I’m not looking to reinvent the wheel just looking to add some new perspective. Reading > Netflix.

After 13 years of work in the same building and 6 with The12 I will no longer be training clients there. I need to change my focus to something that fits me and my clientele’s needs. This year has taught me a lot. I need to find something that aligns with my background and leads me to being fulfilled. I know what to do for me and my people. The time is now. To all the friends I’ve made at The12, I will truly miss you guys! Good luck on your fitness journeys!

Every time I hear a fad...a cleanse...juice diet...all this crap I think of this. If people are getting results they are doing the work. It’s not that hard, create a routine and stick to it. If you lack discipline hire a nutrition coach or a trainer. In 3 months you can change your entire physique.

Genetic potential. First pic is me at 17 or 18 years old. Second one is me winning my first bodybuilding show as a Novice. I was about 27 I believe. I had no delusions that I could compete at a national level or pro level. I took the experience and applied it to my business. 20+ years in the training game and I still love it!!! This brings me so much joy. This young man came to me for training before covid weighing over 270lbs. We set a lot of short term goals and talked about getting him below 200lbs. I promised I would buy him a Nike outfit to celebrate if he hit that goal. Here you see him with the outfit he EARNED and the proof in the following picture. Next stop 185lbs! Very proud of you Michael.

Not doing this for likes or attention. I hope someone reads this and understands why their routine isn’t working for them as well as they’d thought it would. If your workout consists of a cardio form of training and little else, chances are you are very disappointed in your results. Start eating better and lift weights! Increase lean tissue!!!

Stop obsessing over food. It’s energy. Avoid making eating a social activity. Find hobbies that burn calories rather than consuming them. Instead of meeting for drinks, go for a hike. The people I see always posting photos of themselves eating with friends at restaurants are the same ones who never quite get as lean as they’d like. The same people who post about food all the time need to focus on other things. It’s not a hobby, eat to live don’t live to eat. Getting lean is easy, getting big is easy...getting big and lean is VERY hard. Change your habits and you will change your body. Stick to lower calorie, nutrient dense food. Watch your body change.

Been doing this for over 20 years. The most sustainable nutrition plan I’ve ever employed is the carb cycle. Sunday’s are a rest day so I eat far less carbs. Keeps my abs showing for the last 20 years straight. Skip the fad diets go with the tried and true. If you have questions feel free to message me about custom carb cycling diets.

I’m not motivated to get a six pack... motivation is BS what you really need is routine in your life. Build a good resistance based workout routine along with a nutrient rich diet in a calorie deficit and apply this over a time period. It’s that easy. No fads, no bs. Hiring a trainer to hold you accountable is a great tool. If you are stuck let me know. Adding more hours soon to accommodate demand.

I used to hear this all the time. If I lift weights will I get bulky? I think Instagram has really helped prove this to be false. Instagram shows lots of girls lifting weights who have achieved fantastic physiques. They would put models to shame 10 to 20 years ago. Heavy weightlifting (relative) and a proper diet builds a very lean, beautiful body. Needless to say, the game has been stepped up for men and women.
