Dear Friends and Family, As a loyal patient of OC Smile Dental & Orthodontics, I feel it’s important to personally reach out and share the changes we’ve implemented in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19). Nothing is more important than the health and safety of our patients and employees. We always strive to maintain the highest standards when it comes to cleaning and maintaining our state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, and we're taking it even further. ... We’ve enhanced our already stringent cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization protocols. We’re continuing to follow the guidelines set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization and are in regular contact with local health officials. Keeping our employees informed and giving them the tools they need to keep you, themselves, and our environment safe is our highest priority. Below is a short list of a few proactive initiatives we’ve already implemented: Enhanced professional cleaning protocols: Our offices are professionally cleaned every night, from top to bottom, using EPA approved hospital-grade disinfectants. Enhanced internal cleaning protocols: Numerous times throughout the day, you will see our staff disinfecting common surfaces more frequently. In addition, we have made hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes widely available throughout our office and operatories for patient use as well. Use of Aerosols: Numerous times throughout the day, our staff will be spraying aerosol disinfectants during slower, or non-patient, times. The use of these aerosols has proven effective against viruses similar to coronavirus. HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) Filters: HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters filter out the smallest and finest airborne particles from all recirculated air before re-entering the office or being mixed with fresh air. These HEPA filters are also used in many hospitals and surgical centers to provide patients with clean air. All recirculated air is passed through these filters before re-entering the office or being mixed with fresh air. We know how important cleanliness is during these times. Rest assured, we are monitoring this developing situation closely, staying in regular contact with federal agencies, health organizations, and other experts.
