UPDATE: It is with great sadness that we are unfortunately cancelling OCIF 2020 performances to do our part in the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and help keep our communities safe. If you purchased tickets, please anticipate a refund over the weekend as we sort everything out. We thank the performers and community for all your support and know we would have had an amazing fest if not for these circumstances. The Professionals are an improv comedy troupe who perform a docu-reality parody that delves into the lives of characters with the hobby or pastime of the audience’s choosing. We are excited to announce our comrades Belle Reve will be taking the stage in the 10pm block of OCif Friday Night! Belle Rêve is a troupe that includes San Diego improvisors who learned the improvised Tennessee Williams from Nick Armstrong at Camp Improv Yosemite in 2017. The troupe is a splinter off of the Infirmary Players, the troupe born out of CIU Yosemite. Looking to perform the form more consistently, and still honoring the Infirmary Players as it is, Amber, Joe, Niki..., and Michael formed Belle Rêve and invited John and Jen to round out the group. We are excited to announce our comrades Consenting Adults will be taking the stage in the 10pm block of OCif Friday Night! Consenting Adults was formed in 2014 as a house improv team at the Westside Comedy Theater in Santa Monica. Since then they've continued to delight audiences with their wide range of eclectic performances, energy, and stupidly intelligent humor. In 2017 they won the coveted award for Best House Team West of the 405 in Los Angeles. Members of Consenting A...dults have performed with Second City, UCB, and Mission: Improvable's Touring Company. They've also been featured in film and television. Their current coach is Adam Cawley, co-host of The Backline, an improv tutorial podcast. We are excited to announce our Friday Night Headliner The Black Version will be taking the stage in the 8pm block of OCif Friday Night! The Black Version is a completely improvised show that started at the Groundings Theatre in Los Angeles in 2010 to sold out crowds and great reviews. Rolling Stone magazine calls the show Hot and the cast a Comedic A-Team. LA Weekly says the show is Red Hot and Scores more than its share of belly laughs while the LA Times calls the sh...ow A Winner. This talented cast has vast film and television credits ranging from Mad TV and Saturday Night Live, to The Boondocks and Reno 911. The show begins when the director asks the audience to suggest a popular film title and then the cast, right there on the copy, improvise the Black Version of that film.
