Congratulations
Congratulations to this years 2021 OVLL All Stars
Keep OVLL going with this easy (do-it-from-home) fundraiser! THE BOX SCORE You may not know that player fees only cover part of OVLL’s annual operating expenses. The pandemic has limited our usual fundraiser activities, including the Open Day Carnival, food and clothing sales, and sponsorships. And while we’ve done everything we can to cut costs the past two years, without these fund raising activities, we might have to consider raising registration fees to cover costs.... POWER HITTER AT THE PLATE We looked for a simple way to involve OVLL families in helping to raise funds from home. So in partnership with a bedding industry leader, Hibernate Sheets, OVLL is hoping to raise much needed funds for league operations. We are asking all OVLL familes to share this special bedsheets offer with their contacts through social media, text, or email. Hibernate handles everything else, including product delivery. Hibernate’s charity platform, Hibernate Funds, is a well-respected fund-raising program used by youth athletic programs around the country. Many programs raise $5K, $10K, even $25K each year. You can learn more about their program here: https://hibernatefunds.com/ Who couldn’t use at least one set of new bedsheets, right? And we’ve found that most people tend to drive 10-20 total sales, so we can make a huge difference in the life of the league. A GREAT TRIPLE-PLAY This fundraiser allows buyers to receive a huge discount ($49.99 instead of the retail price of $69.99 for all sizes) on these amazing sheets, while helping OVLL raise funds at the same time! In addition, participants can qualify for a variety of amazing baseball gear and other prizes based on how many sheets your friends and family buy. GET IN THE GAME So consider helping us with this program to keep OVLL fully operational into next year. It’s easy peasy! We’re asking everyone to share this special offer through text, social media, or email between now and early June. All orders placed by June 15th get credited to your player as far as the prize tiers. Be sure to distribute the special OVLL league code as part of your communications. BATTER UP For more instructions for setting up your account and sending out messages can be found on the OVLL website here: Fundraising Set-up and Promotional Info. Be sure to sign up at hibernatefund.com (NOT hibernatefunds.com, with an s--two different sites from the same company). The Prize Sheet can be found on the OVLL website here: Prize Chart. Please take a few moments to read through the materials and consider supporting our league! And if you're interested in buying sheets to support the league, but don't have an active OVLL player, please contact Pete ([email protected]) or Monica ([email protected]), who can help you place an order. Thank you! The OVLL Board Oceanside Valley Little League For general inquiries, please contact your organization directly. Email: [email protected]

5 new answers to common coronavirus questions in our FAQ for local leagues.
Hello Players, Parents and Coaches, Safe to say that we miss seeing all of you each week! Hopefully everyone is getting in some tosses or even batting practice in the yard. Some folks are inquiring if and when the league may resume. As of now, the formal position of Little League International has remained unchanged that all activities (games and practices) be suspended until May 11 in support of the social distancing effort. At the same time, resuming the league will most... likely be determined regionally based on local state and county requirements. We'll do our best to keep you apprised of what we hear and will determine at that time what that means for the continuation of the OVLL season. In the meantime, here is a recent FAQ from Little League https://www.littleleague.org/player-s/coronavirus-update// All the best for now, The OVLL Board
Stay safe OVLL families
C-U-R-T-I-S That spells a #LLPeptalk from Curtis Granderson!
We are in this together!!
Dear Players, Coaches and Parents, After careful consideration, the board has decided to suspend OVLL games and practices due to the Coronavirus outbreak. We've been monitoring this situation closely the past few days and were hoping to keep the league open. Recent events and recommendations from several governing authorities across the state the past 24 hours have led us to believe this is the best course of action for public safety. All leagues in our district are doing... the same. And while it's still optional to conduct events of less than 250 people, the CDC recommends only those events where attendees maintain can "social distancing" of 6 feet from others, which as we know is not possible in baseball. And while our kids may not be visibly affected by this virus, they can still carry it to other, older members of their family and the community with which they come into contact. You can read the letter from the Little League International here, which outlines their recommendations: https://www.littleleague.org/player-saf/coronavirus-update/ If we receive word that we can resume earlier than April 6th, we will get the word out. And as the situation unfolds, we will evaluate what this means for the make up of missed games or an extension of the season. Please stay safe everyone, Pete and the OVLL Board
Dear Players, Coaches and Parents, In light of the ongoing events surrounding the Coronavirus across the country, the Little League Organization has posted the following statement today: https://www.littleleague.org/player-saf/coronavirus-update/... We are diligently watching updates from local authorities on recommended suspension of events, including little league games and practices. Through Sunday, all games and practices are already suspended due to the weather. We will continue to monitor the situation over the next few days to determine the best course of action. The safety of all our players and families is of utmost importance. The OVLL Board
