We send strength and support to the state of Colorado and the Highlands Ranch community after today’s #StemShooting. Nobody should experience this type of fear,... not on our streets or in our schools. Do not tune this story out. Do not grow numb to this. We must end gun violence. We must save lives. We must act now.

From Just CARE: Campus Action for Reproductive Equity: Tomorrow, the state Senate Health Committee is meeting to consider and vote on Senate Bill 24. We need you to call these Senators and urge them to vote YES on the College Student Right to Access Act. Senator Melissa Hurtado, Phone: (916) 651-4014... Senator Susan Rubio, Phone: (916) 651-4022 Senator Maria Elena Durazo, Phone: (916) 651-4024 Sample Script: "Hello, my name is _________ and I'm calling to urge Senator _______ to vote YES on SB24, the College Student Right to Access Act. (**If you are a constituant, of that Senator's district, and/or a student or alumni of a UC or CSU, mention in your introduction!!**) Right now, hundreds of college students are forced to go off campus every month for abortion care. That means they’re forced to miss class, take time off of work and their studies, to see a provider they don’t know for care that could easily be provided on their campus. Offering abortion care on campus is an important step forward for student access to reproductive care. Thank you for your time."

Young Democrats at Orange Coast College are firmly against decreasing parking spaces on campus. We see this as a disability justice issue as well as a detriment to every student's access to education. We urge our administration to not go through with this proposal.

Next Monday, ballots arrive for the March 12th County Board of Supervisor Special Elections. There is only one Democrat on the ballot --- Congresswoman Loretta ...Sanchez. The leading Republican is an anti-immigrant Trumper. County government is responsible for law enforcement and local jails, and a vast array of State-mandated health, welfare, and social service programs. Historically, the Republican-controlled board has been ineffective, corrupt, and negligent. Join OCYD next Saturday at 10:30am to talk to our community about this historic election: https://www.facebook.com/events/2170655689917207/
