The Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band 18.02.2022

The musicians of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band are proud to present our annual Veterans Concert, "America's Heroes: Never Forgotten," on Monday November 15, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. on the front steps of the Gardiner Spring Auditorium. The concert pays a musical tribute to our veterans past and present who have served and continue to serve and protect our country in all four corners of the globe. The performance will be held outdoors in compliance with the health restric...tions currently in-place due to the pandemic. Gardiner W. Spring Auditorium is located on the campus of Chaffey High School at 1250 N. Euclid Ave. The performance is FREE to the public. The front steps of the auditorium is a well-lighted at night and presents a beautiful view of the historic building and backdrop for the Show Band. We recommend that you bring a comfortable portable lawn chair and a warm jacket. There is plenty of space for everyone. Restrooms are located in the foyer of the auditorium; ladies on the south end and gentlemen at the north end. Parking will be available in both the Fourth and Fifth Street parking lots. The program features the participation of the Chaffey High School Naval Junior ROTC Corps of Cadets under the leadership of Retired Navy Commander Martin Jones. The invocation will be given by Gary Keith, Pastor of Life Bible Fellowship Church and board member of "The Friends of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band." A rifle salute will be presented by the Marine Corps Memorial Honors Team 18 and 56. Also, the American Flag Folding Ceremony will be presented by retired Marine Corps Veterans Jesse James and Charles Jones. Taps will be performed by Show Band Trumpeter Mike Pfister. The concert will also feature the outstanding musicians of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band. They will perform a variety of patriotic music including the service songs from every branch of the military, several popular marches and musical highlights from the famous documentary series "Victory at Sea." The performance will be narrated by Christina Martinez, Principal of Chaffey High School, and Dr. James Q. Hammond, Superintendent of the Ontario Montclair School District. Join us for a great night of Patriotic music.

UNFORTUNATELY THE CONCERT HAS BEEN POSTPOSED UNTIL NOVEMBER 1ST DUE TO RAIN!!!!! The musicians of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band and the Petrocelli Family are proud to present "Viva La Musica" on Monday October 25, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. on the front steps of the Gardiner Spring Auditorium. The concert, which pays a musical tribute to Hispanic Heritage Month, will be held outdoors in compliance with the health restrictions currently in-place due to the pandemic. Gardine...r W. Spring Auditorium is located on the campus of Chaffey High School at 1250 N. Euclid Ave. The performance is FREE to the public. The area in front of the steps of the auditorium is a well-lighted area at night and presents a beautiful view of the historic building and backdrop for the Show Band. We recommend that you bring a comfortable portable lawn chair and a warm jacket. There is plenty of space for everyone. The program features a variety of exciting Latin music, including folk songs, ballads, dancing, and instrumental selections. Solo artists include several talented members of the Show Band. Concertmaster Chris McAleer will sing a medley of Mexican folk songs and the ever-popular "Besame Mucho" and John Knapp will perform the trumpet solo on "Cherry Pink and Apple Blossoms White." Musician/vocalist Isaac Gonzalez will sing two beautiful ballads from South of the border titled "Mujer" and "Accompaname." Special guest artist and vocalist Dr. George Matamala will be featured on "Volver Volver" and "Solamente Una Vez." Renown percussionist and educator Homero Chavez will be featured on timbales in "Los Timbales Felices." The performance is also highlighted by the dancing of Show Band musician Kathy Soderlund. She will perform two numbers; "Passion" which also features her talented husband Ken Soderlund on acoustic guitar, and "Tango de Amor," a piece written for her by Dr. Petrocelli. The outstanding musicians of the Show Band are featured on a variety of instrumental selections that include several famous Mexican marches; "Amparito Roca" conducted by Assistant Director David Schaafsma and "Zacatecas" conducted by Assistant Director Pat Arnold. The performance will be narrated by Elvia Rivas, member of the Ontario Montclair School District Board of Trustees, and Charlene Saenz, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction in the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.

The Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band 30.10.2020

The Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band will open their 2018-19 concert season on Monday September 17th at 7:30 p.m. with a show titled "A Tribute to Neil Diamond." The performance will feature the exciting Dean Colley and the "Hot August Night" band, "The Dogs," a very talented Rock 'n Roll band from Claremont California, and the outstanding musicians of the Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band. We invite you to come out and enjoy the sunset with some good music. The city will provide 150 chairs for our fans or you can bring your lawn chairs and/or blanket and make your own spot in the grass in front of the Bandshell at the beautiful Ontario Town Square. The square is located one block East of Euclid Ave. at the corners of "C" Street and Lemon and "B" Street and Lemon. Come join in the fun.

The Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band 24.10.2020

The Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band will present their final performance of the 2018 season with rousing patriotic music for the close of the Ontario All-States July 4th Parade down Euclid Avenue on Wednesday morning. We invite you to come out and bring your lawn chairs and picnic baskets to have a grand old time celebrating the 4th of July. As soon as the parade is over there will be lots of room for everybody to find a spot on the grass in front of the Bandshell at the beautiful Ontario Town Square located one block East of Euclid Ave. at the corners of "C" Street and Lemon and "B" Street and Lemon. Just a very short walk from the end of the parade, just south of the Wells Fargo Bank building. Weather predictions are for very pleasant temperatures for Wednesday in Ontario, so come join in the fun for Independence Day!

The Ontario Chaffey Community Show Band is proud to present "Doo-Wop Spectacular II" on Monday April 16th at 7:30 p.m. at the Bandshell in the beautiful Ontario Town Square, located one block East of Euclid Ave. at the corner of "B" Street and Lemon Ave. in downtown Ontario. Please note that this is a change of venue from prior publications. Early birds are invited to come at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy complimentary cookies and Starbucks coffee. Admission to the concert is FREE to... the public. The concert repertoire will feature an array of hit songs from the Doo-Wop era. The Show Band is proud to feature special guest artist Ron Ellington Shy, nephew of the great musical legend Duke Ellington. Ron has been involved in a lifetime of entertainment. His versatility as an artist is well recognized in the industry. He performed with both the "Drifters" and "Coasters" and was a founding member of "Don and Dewey." Also, as an actor, Ron appeared on "Dallas" in 1978 and "Heart Beat" in 1985. He has extensive experience in the recording industry and has a wall full of Gold Records as a testament. Ron was a product of the Doo-Wop era and enjoyed a great deal of popularity nationally and later in Europe. He will be performing an entire musical set with personal hits that include "Hookin' It Up," "I'm Leaving It All Up To You/The Letter," "Any Port In the Storm," and "Don't You Know." In addition, he will be singing three well-known hits "Let It Be Me," "Ruby," and "L.O.V.E." Long-time Show Band friend Jim Bonner returns to the Show Band Stage and will sing two songs popularized during the Doo-Wop Era, "Happy Happy Birthday Baby," and "The Book of Love." Concertmaster Chris McAleer is featured on "Good Night Sweetheart" and "Since I Fell For You" and the outstanding musicians of the Show Band will be featured on the memorable Doo-Wop hits "Come Go With Me," "Silhouettes," and "This Magic Moment." Join us for a great night of music and enjoy a hot cup of FREE STARBUCKS COFFEE, and put some green stuff in the Hungry Tuba. We will also have many of our DVD's available for a small donation. A quick reminder that in just a few short hours, we start our first rehearsal of the new season! Our rehearsals are open to anyone who would like to join us: no audition required! Just grab your instrument and sit in where you feel most comfortable. Rehearsals are at the Jack Mercer Music Hall at Chaffey High.
