We finally got one! Do you recognize this blue mow-hawked dog? You may have seen him surfing at OB Dog beach or other local beach. PSA!! If your kids dropped off a letter to Santa!! We understand there are USPS delays. We want to make sure your child gets their letter. Santa sent an elf that will be dropping off his letters at the addresses today. The elf will have a purple hat on, will be as quiet as possible and will slip it in your mailbox or if no box is available, will put it by the door. We just want to make sure the kids get their response before Christmas and not after because of delays. We’ve notice an increase in delayed package deliveries from the USPS. We’ve asked and this is what we have found out: USPS hubs across the country have been overwhelmed with packages, parcels on top of regular mail this holiday season. There are delays everywhere. Part of the reason for increase other than covid and holiday season but other shipping vendors stopping pick ups from 6 major retailers forcing the increased volume upon the USPS who is already short staffed. Now, w...eather is also a factor with winter storms in the North Eastern part of the country causing closures for vehicles and air traffic causing more delays. In order to save time, USPS is not scanning in items dropped into their care through drop boxes, they only scan if you hand off to counter staff and obtain a receipt. From there the item is placed into zoning bins. The individual item that was not scanned upon receipt or through travel may not be scanned until it reaches its final destination. This will just show as a label created when you track your item. We understand your frustration with tracking and we will do our best to help you. Right now our best advice is to be patient and just wait along with us. We are saddened that some gifts will not arrive in time. We can state that we have taken all items to the USPS for travel but now we wait alongside you. Word is it can take much longer than normal. This delay impacts everyone from a small Etsy seller, your neighbor, big box stores, us and you. This also includes priority and express options being delayed. Thank you for reading this long post. We will do our best to wait with you and hope your items will arrive on time. We do offer options such as FedEx and UPS for alternative shipping for you to maybe think about. It’s National Cat Day! We tend to talk about our dog more but let’s take a gander at Chris’s cat Kyo. We adopted him from a shelter only to learn later on we brought the wrong cat home! It worked out perfectly, this cat is a riot. He thinks he’s a dog, knows basic commands like sit, come, stand, and paw. He wakes Chris up super early to be let outside, we basically live to serve him. He even has our neighbors trained to walk with him and they’re on his schedule. He is Charleigh’s sidekick and best friends with our dog. Take a moment to appreciate his majestic awesomeness. Dropping off Ballots Just a friendly reminder. The USPS itself recommends as of yesterday to drop-off your vote-from-home ballot rather than mailing it to ensure it arrives at the ROV by Tuesday Election Day. There are plenty of manned, secure, and official ballot drop off locations all over San Diego (mostly at libraries) so you don’t have to wait in long lines. And starting Saturday you can drop off ballots also at any of the 235 voting locations that will open ...for 4 days. All those early ballots received by the ROV will get immediately counted starting at 8pm on Tuesday. Early ballots means quicker preliminary results. If you absolutely must mail your ballot, don’t worry. As long as it is postmarked by Tue Nov 3, it can be received up to 17 days later by the ROV and it will still get counted! There is an ballot drop off in front of the OB library (SSC & Santa Monica) or the Hervey Library (Point Loma-Voltaire & Poinsettia) are close to us.
