- : It is preferable to plan to administer the second dose as close to the recommended date as possible. The second dose may be administered after the 21 or 28 day window for the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, respectively. Although it is optimal to receive the second dose as close as possible to the correct day, the vaccine series does not need to be restarted even if the second dose is administered late. ... Although social distancing and physical separation are still important to keep our residents safe, we are taking steps to combat the unintended consequences of prolonged social isolation and to maintain overall health and well-being. We are pleased to announce the planned implementation of a new Compassion Visit program. This program is established in coordination with local, state and regulatory guidelines for visitor restrictions which may allow certain visitors for residen...ts from outside our community, necessary for those residents with Hospice services, or essential for the well-being or psychosocial support of residents as a result of social isolation related to COVID-19. Listed below are some of the guidance criteria we will use: - Compassion visitors shall be required to read and sign the COVID-19 Risk Addendum before visit can take place. - Compassion visitors shall be 18 years and older. - Compassion visitors shall be family members, power of attorneys, outside caregivers, friends or designated Essential Caregivers who provide regular care and emotional support to the resident prior to the pandemic. - Compassion visitors shall limit their movement in our community to the entrance screening area, designated visitation space and designated visitor bathroom. - Compassion Visits shall schedule appointments, a minimum of 24-hours in advance, during hours designated by the Executive Director/Designee and visits are limited to 10% of the total community current occupancy. - Compassion Visits shall be suspended at any time under the direction of local, state or federal agencies directives. - Compassion Visits require a PPE Kit be purchased from the community at a cost of $6.00 for a one-time use kit. This is to ensure an intact, clean, unused equipment. The PPE fee shall be paid the community by the visitor in cash or check only and cannot be charged to a resident’s account. The Executive Director reserves the right to notify families of alternate means to cover the cost of community PPE. Learn more on our website - https://bit.ly/34ZuXNI
