Our dog Hamish woke us up vomiting. He was super painful and crying. We took him into our clinic and began working him up. His bloodwork was bad and worsened throughout the day. Thankfully our friends at VSEC in Thousand stayed late to ultrasound him and found out that his gallbladder had ruptured. He’s currently undergoing emergency surgery and we’ll hopefully know more over the next few days #emergency #vetmed #vetmedicine #vetmedlife #dogchild

One of our vets got to spend time with our friend @kittenxlady talking about kitten health and veterinary care. Thanks to @royalcaninus as well. Super Nerd - our clinic just got Tempscan microchips!! One wave of the microchip scanner and you instantly know the animal’s temperature. No more thermometers (unless we have serious concerns about a fever), no more distress from taking rectal temperatures, and no more inappropriate comments from pet owners attempting humor. I’m literally so excited! I love when we change how we practice medicine in a positive way for the animals. If you’re at the clinic with your pet, ask about these microchips. We’ve stocked up and want to make this fear-free tool the new norm. @homeagainpetrescuer #homeagain #tempscan #fearfreepets #fearfree #vetmed #vetmedlife #vetmedworld #positivechange #magicwand @ Oaks Veterinary Urgent Care

We understand how busy all clinics have become during this pandemic and every single one of us has had to make adjustments. We consider ourselves very lucky to live and work in a beautiful place, surrounded by such diversity of species. As such, we are continuing to accept injured/orphaned wildlife and will do what we need to in order to meet the demand for care. There are some amazing rehab facilities and rehabbers that we work closely with and treasure those relationships. Help us help the animals. #conejostrong #wildlife #wildlifeprotection #loveanimals

The one and only Sir Pounce would like to remind you that we are open normal hours this weekend 11am-11pm Saturday and Sunday if you have a veterinary emergency. Please remember the safety of your pets and wildlife if using fireworks. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! #oaksvetcare #fourthofjuly #vetemergency

Ready for the surprise?! Fergus is officially going home!!!!! His awesome mom @kellywatrobski is the vet who has worked on his rehab care since we rescued him. It’s definitely with mixed emotions that we send Ferg onto his next adventure but he deserves the best life. Plus he’ll be just down the street if we need a visit. Happy life Fergus #adoptdontshop #catfoster #bestcatdad #adoptionday #nosuchthingasunadoptable @ Oaks Veterinary Urgent Care

Sweet Turnip is recovering from surgery. Don’t swipe beyond the graphic photo warning if you don’t want to see surgery pics. Turnip came to us when @loveleorescue and @nwdogproject joined together to rescue two adult dogs and their 7 puppies living in a pallet yard. We took on the tiniest puppy who was failing to thrive. He was skin and bones and his belly was always bloated. After weeks of tests/treatments and no improvement we took Turnip to surgery where we found a long se...ction of his small intestine was not functioning. @wee_vet and @carinvet resected a long stretch of intestine and then sewed the two healthy ends together. We’re hoping that this solves Turnip’s gut and growth issues and allows him to thrive. Guess what breed this 5lb puppy is?? If you can spare a few bucks please consider donating to animalrmf.org #nosuchthingasunadoptable #sickpuppy #abdominalsurgery #vetmed #vetmedlife #vetmedworld #resectionandanastomosis @ Oaks Veterinary Urgent Care See more

Chris and Pratt are brothers looking to be adopted together. Chris has a underdeveloped eye that doesn’t bother him and Pratt has a right arm that is deformed but fully functional. Let us know if you think you’d be a good family for these two special guys! #adoptdontshop #deformity #kittensofinstagram #nosuchthingasunadoptable @ Thousand Oaks, California

Oliver is back to being his little loud self today after he had his tail amputated last night and we closed some of the wounds on his back end. Teddy is also doing well and is following Oliver’s lead and meowing until we love on him. Demi is quiet but comfortable and enjoying being pet and brushed. We didn’t include a photo of Demi today bc we know it can be hard to look at.
