Oakmont of El Dorado Hills

Saturday at Oakmont of EDH started out with everyone taking advantage of our Beautiful Courtyard and enjoying a Wonderful Zumba Fit Class with Rhea. Residents then had Karen Downs talk and teach how to better use their Apple Products and even give one on one hands on training. With so many activities this week from Scenic Drives, Gardening, Ted Talks, Mindfulness Lectures and Documentaries, to enjoying Puzzles, Arts and Craft and Painting, there are so many activities to benefit and enjoy for our residents every day of the week at Oakmont of EDH!

Tuesday afternoon the residents got together and with our fabulous and fun instructor Elisa Reutinger, we created art post cards. Everyone enjoyed the lessons, conversations, and relaxing arts and craft project. Always fun activities at Oakmont of EDH!!

The weather is warming up, our very fun and creative activity team wanted to do a door-to-door happy hour and surprise our residents with frozen Otter Pops. Residents loved the surprise, we heard so many stories from residents about their first time with otter pops, and residents commented on a perfect treat to a wonderful Friday afternoon at Oakmont of EDH!!

Everyone meet Carson who is one of our amazing servers in the dinning room. Carson has been with Oakmont for about 6 months and really enjoys the interaction with residents and hearing lots of cool stories from the past. When Carson is not at work, he enjoys jet ski on the lake and working on his car. Carson just finished high school and is going to attend Sierra College this Fall to major in Fire and EMT. Thank you, Carson, for putting so many smiles and providing excellent customer service to all our residents! Thank you for being part of the Oakmont EDH Team!!

Thursday afternoon was BINGO fundraiser in support of the Alzheimer's Association. Residents and Family came out for a great cause and enjoyed the night with prizes and lots of fun! We were able to raise $200.00. Thank you everyone for your help and support!

Today is National Armed Forces Day and at Oakmont of EDH, we wanted to thank, and support are many residents who served. Our Military Veteran each received a beautiful Medial with recognition of their branch and years in service with live music, food, and drinks! The stories, memories shared, made this Saturday a very special and memorable with our residents at Oakmont of EDH!!

Today we celebrated all our May resident’s birthday with music by Jim Hall and birthday cupcakes. Everyone enjoyed the music and wonderful afternoon at Oakmont of EDH!!

Resident Mixer at Oakmont of East Sacramento! We took our residents to Oakmont of East Sacramento to enjoy music, food, and network with other residents. Everyone enjoyed the conversations and an event top on their favorite list! We are very appreciative and thankful for the Executive Director Terry Ervin and Activity Director Simesha McDonald at East Sacramento Oakmont for allowing us and putting together such an Amazing and Beautiful event for all our residents to enjoy!

Spotlight of the week! Everyone meet Judy, our Wonderful and very friendly Driver. Judy has been with Oakmont of EDH since it open and what Judy loves about Oakmont of EDH is the many residents, conversations, staff and teamwork. When Judy is not at work, she loves to spend time with her son and travel to see and learn new places. Thank you, Judy, for your dedication to all our residents and Oakmont of EDH!

Happy Hour Music at Oakmont of EDH! One of our favorite musicians Bob Rawleigh back in town and our residents love to hear his beautiful voice and amazing performance! Thank you, Bob, for always making music happy hour memorable for our residents at Oakmont of EDH!

Today is our Chef Kelly's last day as she is promoted and moves forward in her career to another Oakmont community. Chef Kelly's favorite is Taco Bell, So we through her a Taco Bell going away party with live music with Brandon, who plays the accordion and piano at the same time. Residents and staff all came out to thank Chef Kelly, enjoy the wonderful music, and great tacos! Congratulations Chef Kelly!!

Today is a special day for a very special lady. Happy Birthday Jerry, we are so grateful to spend another year with you.

Door to Door Happy Hour "Name that Tune", but with a twist! We had Elvis Presley come to Oakmont of EDH! and sing the songs to our residents as we played the game. Elvis had everyone dancing and singing along and working up an appetite. Our Fabulous Chef Kelly and Chef Joe made Tuna Poke and Chips to go along with Elvis Tunes! Fun and Memorable times at Oakmont of EDH!

Our wonderful residents and amazing team are always thinking outside of the box when it comes to activities. Today we did door to door decorating of ugly sweaters and contest with awards! Oakmont of EDH, making wonderful memories and many smiles!! :)

Spotlight of the Week! Everyone meets our Healthcare Hero Janai who works in our Traditions memory care. Janai has been with Oakmont EDH for over 5 months. Janai loves sports, family and traveling. Janai especially loves the many personality traits, conversations, caring for the residents and teamwork with her coworkers. Thank you Janai for all you do at Oakmont of EDH!

Nothing like a cozy marshmallow-man in a hot cocoa bath, along with some sweet treats to get our residents in the holiday spirit!! Our incredible team spread joy and smiles today as they jingle-bell rocked throughout the hallways delivering these goodies door to door! Spotlight of the Week! Meet Kayleigh, who is our amazing Traditions Activity Coordinator! Kayleigh has been a part of our team since we cut the red ribbon over a year ago. Kayleigh exudes our missions and values through her daily interactions with staff and residents. Kayleigh’s positivity and smile are contagious. Her teamwork, compassion, and dedication is top tier and plays a huge role in Traditions. When Kayleigh isn’t at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and singing. Thank you for being a ROCKSTAR! We appreciate you.

Our resident at Oakmont EDH bundled up and enjoyed the beautiful day outdoors, fresh air, and live music for happy hour. Carl Finnigan played great music and residents danced with smiles and happiness.
