WOW!!! Busy, busy, BUSY summer with no time to do any updates on our page! We had a very successful summer camp season, teaching a new generation of sailors and providing a safe, fun environment for learning! As of now, we begin our fall hours. We will be open 11am-5pm, Monday through Friday, and 10:30am - 5pm on the weekends. Still plenty of sunshine and pleasant days, so come on down and enjoy a relaxing sail or paddle on Lake Merritt!

The Lake Merritt Boating Center will be closed for boat rentals this weekend in order to protect our customers and staff from unhealthy air quality resulting from the wildfires. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Fall is right around the corner - so what does that mean for Lake Merritt? Cooler weather, "interesting" winds (our sailors love 'em!), and yes, shorter hours. We will only be open until 5pm for rentals (4:30 for sailboats) with all boats off the water no later than 6pm. We'll be changing again in November, but that's still a ways off, so come on out to the lake and enjoy our last remaining summery days!

Due to staff illness, we will be closing for rentals today at 2pm. We will re-open tomorrow at 11am. We apologize for any inconvenience.

ATTENTION Cyclists, scooter riders, skateboarders, and skaters - for your safety (and the safety of others), please walk your wheels! If you MUST ride, then we ask that you do NOT ride along the seawall area, and signs are posted to alert you of this. There are too many pedestrians, blind corners, and NO guard rails. This was found this morning. It's unknown if anyone was injured. Be cautious, be observant, and above all, BE CAREFUL! Thank you!

SAILING TODAY: Our Adult Basic Sailing class will be using 2 keelboats and 2 catamarans. This leaves 1 of each available for rentals, both of which are first-come/first-served. However, we have plenty of El Toros and Sunfish available, so come on down and catch some wind in the waves!
