We’re pleased to see the State take this transitional approach to the California face masking guidance, because large portions of our populations are still unva...ccinated and vulnerable to this virus, including young children : https://www.chhs.ca.gov//statement-from-chhs-secretary-dr/ Alameda County's local orders are aligned with the State and we cannot be less restrictive. https://www.cdph.ca.gov///guidance-for-face-coverings.aspx With an eye on June 15, #AlamedaCounty will continue to increase access and provide information about vaccine to our priority populations and areas that have lower rates of vaccination. COVID-19 continues to circulate at moderate levels in Alameda County and the best way to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. You can make an appointment here: https://www.primarybio.com/l/alco-vax-signup To protect our most vulnerable residents and essential workers, please continue to wear your mask indoors and in outdoor crowded spaces, especially if you don’t know the vaccination status of those around you.
It's important to return for your second dose. If you already have, learn more about what fully vaccinated people can do: https://www.cdph.ca.gov//COVID-19-Public-Health-Recommenda #TakePrecautions #Vaccinate58 #MaskOn #StaySafe @AlamedaCounty @ACSOSheriffs @AlamedaCoFire
Nominations for the new #Oakland Poet Laureate Program are being accepted this Wednesday, May 19. The program’s primary goal is to make poetry more accessible across Oakland, while promoting an understanding of the transformative power of this art form. https://bit.ly/32ekxYh
Our local orders are aligned with the State and we currently follow their direction on masks. COVID-19 continues to circulate at moderate levels in our communi...ties and more than half of @AlamedaCounty residents, including children, are not fully vaccinated. We advise people to continue to protect each other by wearing masks, especially in crowded environments, if they don’t know the vaccination status of those around them. To protect @AlamedaCounty workers, all workplaces must continue to follow Cal/OSHA’s standards, including current masking requirements. Alameda County can’t be less restrictive. Getting prepared for a storm is a team effort, and Oakland Public Works (OPW) Adopt a Drain volunteers play a key role in helping the City protect water quality and prevent flooding. OPW provides tools and supplies to support volunteer efforts, and sends email rain alert notifications to help volunteers prepare their neighborhoods and business districts for rainstorms. Hundreds of Oaklanders have adopted storm drains through the City's Adopt a Drain program to help maintain more than 15,000 storm drains. Sign up at www.adoptadrainoakland.com today! You can adopt one or more storm drains to help to prevent flooding in your neighborhood and keep trash out of our waterways.

The City of Oakland resumed street sweeping parking enforcement November 9th, in part to help Oakland Public Works street sweeping crews get better access to curbs. Seasonal weather can include rain and storms, so it is critical that we keep the streets clean to avoid clogging storm drains. It’s important to start preparing now for rain and storm safety in every Oakland neighborhood. For more information visit https://www.oaklandca.gov/topics/street-sweeping
