Happy Friday! Bay Area children of all ages and their families are invited to Oakland Parks & Recreation's Play Day in the Plaza to kick-off July 2015 National Recreation & Parks Month! Activities such as face painting, double-dutch, group competitions, drumming, cultural arts presentations, basketball, jumpers, games and more will be available for youth. Be sure to Come Out & Play the OPR Way!

As children and youth across the city are getting ready for the summer break and end of the school year, now is the time to promote the awesome activities and work of Oakland Public Library, helping to keep children and teens engaged in summer reading and learning! OUSD is having a free book give away!! Make sure you save the date and visit one of the nine Branches of the Oakland Public library that will be handing the books out!
