Introducing the new OAKE Podcast! We are excited to introduce the first in a series of interviews leading up to the 50th anniversary of OAKE. This series launches with a discussion with the first American to study in Hungary, Elizabeth (Betsy) McLaughlin Moll. Megan Ankuda conducts this hour-long interview that is available to the public on all the main podcast platforms. This project is generously funded through an OAKE Leaf Grant. In Episode 1, you will hear how Betsy came ...to study in Hungary, her experiences there in the 1960’s, and details about the Hungarian music education system at that time. We also discuss pedagogy, the beginning of OAKE, and early childhood music education. Mentioned in this interview are: Anikó Hamvas, Miklós Szabó, Zoltán Kodály, Mary Helen Richards, Daniel Kotansky, Erszébet Sznyí, Márta Nemesszeghy, Katalin Forrai, Denise Bacon, Mária Katanics, Jean Sinor, Christine Jordanoff, Virginia (Ginny) Irvin, and Louis Munkachy. HOW TO LISTEN Go to the new OAKE Podcast page at https://www.oake.org/oake-podcast/ also located in the Resources Menu, or find the podcast on all of your favorite podcast providers
