The Oakdale Museum & History Center will be closed to the public during the Covid Pandemic, as a preventative measure and to secure the integrity of the collection. The FOH Board of Directors has made this decision in the best interests of all involved and the community at large. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we assess the situation.
FLASH BACK--Alerting the public about the Spanish Flu with no computers, texts or Zoom; information came via newspaper articles. Oakdale Leader, Oct. 23, 1918.
We found a handful of these and need help figuring out what they are for. Seems to be brass, stiff and do not bend. Ideas???
FLASH BACK--from the Oakdale Leader, Oct 9, 1918 pg 9.
Autumn Neal is a summer intern with the Oakdale Leader, on assignment to dig into the stories of some of Oakdale's long-time local families. Next year, Oakdale will be celebrating its 150th Anniversary, becoming an actual town in 1871.
YOU did it! Thank you...from the volunteers at the Oakdale Museum & History Center!
