There is still time to register for tomorrow's OCWD Webinar: "Salinity Management: Putting Southern California's Water Supply on a Low-Sodium Diet" The webinar will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, March 30, 2021, from 10am 11am PST. Zoom Registration Link: https://ocwd.zoom.us/web/register/WN_JIO4nOh5R7-LQddEjHbnYA... The event's featured speakers are: Warren Teitz (Metropolitan Water District of Southern California) Mark Norton (Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority) Greg Woodside (Orange County Water District All three featured speakers are Directors on the Board of the Southern California Salinity Coalition. Event Description: While the saying, too much of a good thing, sounds pleasant at its core, we take that very seriously when it comes to managing salt, or salinity, in our water supply. Water managers across the State are responsible for providing a clean and safe drinking water supply, and salinity management plays a critical role in the quality of water that we provide to our communities. While salt is composed of natural elements commonly found in soil and water, how do we manage salinity to support a diversified water resource portfolio? What programs are implemented to help maintain salt concentrations within acceptable levels? Join us as we hear from experts who are leading the way in salinity management locally, regionally and statewide. Our speakers will discuss salinity management initiatives in Southern California, Santa Ana Watershed, the Orange County Groundwater Basin, and the Groundwater Replenishment System.
