The quick Opening Day Ceremony to kick off our Spring 2021 season at Northwest Baseball (just in case you were too far away or happened to have a later game yesterday)

Opening day has been moved to April 24th to give teams more practice time. When season starts we will have a weekday game and a Saturday game. Last game will be May29th, with playoffs the week of May 31st. We are excited the season is moving forward, and we hope you are as well. Northwest Baseball

All of at Northwest Baseball have lost another member to Covid. Earlier this month we lost our former grounds member Jr. Garza and now our former facility manager Moses. COVID has hit Northwest Bakersfield Baseball extremely hard financially. With the cancellation of the 2020 Spring season and not being able to play the 2020 Fall season, we haven't had any registration or snack bar revenue in several months, and now a new wave of Covid is hitting our area. The operating budget to maintain the facility on a monthly basis runs between $8,000-$11,000 each month even when teams are not playing at the fields. This covers PG&E, water, mowing o...f the fields, payroll for the maintenance crew, and various necessary repairs and maintenance costs to keep the facility operational. All others are unpaid volunteers of the organization. Unfortunately, we are unsure when a new season may resume. We have been ordered by the State of California and County of Kern to remain shut down. As we continue to be shut down the facility still requires daily upkeep. The grass continues to grow and things around the facility continue to need repair. At this point, our only hope in keeping Northwest Bakersfield Baseball open for the future is to reach out to the public for support until the point in time we are able to resume normal league play. Northwest Bakersfield Baseball serves between 1,300-1,600 youth athletes in Kern Country each year. Losing an organization like this would be detrimental to the youth in Kern County that we serve in our area. Northwest Bakersfield Baseball has thousands of alumni that we are pleading to for donations to help the league survive this rough time. **2020 Spring Season League Update May 31, 2020** Happy summer everyone and hope this announcement finds you all well and healthy. After several conversations within our board members, members from within our league, public officials, other league members, Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Commissioners, etc. Northwest Baseball will be opening our fields for spring rec teams for practices only starting June 2, 2020. We will be strongly enforcing the following guidelines and we are asking ...that all parents, guardians, coaches, etc please go over these with your player/s. - No teams allowed in complex without prior approval from Tammie Rankin-Gerecke through email only, please do not text ([email protected]) - Only 1 parent/guardian per player allowed in the complex at this time for practices - Absolutely no seeds or gum allowed in the complex - No food is allowed in the dugouts - No physical contact, no high fives, no handshakes - Must try to keep a social distance between players and coaches - Wash hands as much as possible - Face masks optional The restrooms behind the snack bar in between fields 6 & 7 will be the only ones open at this time. Only 1 person allowed at a time. There are some teams that the coach and/or players had other summer commitments. We will be reaching out to those teams that need coaches in the next couple days to see if another parent would like to help. If no other parent is available, We will find a coach for those teams. At this time, we do not have a date when games will start. It is the parent’s decision if they want to continue to have their child participate. If your child or any others in your family shows signs of being sick (fever, cough, body aches, etc) please keep them home. If you have decided, you would like to take one of the credit options or have any questions please send the request and/or question to [email protected]. Also, if you have requested a credit and things have changed and you would now like to participate please send an email to above as well. Northwest Bakersfield Baseball Shopping Days at Dick's Sporting Goods is this weekend, March 6-8. While picking up uniforms this weekend, here is a 20% coupon you can use for any last minute items you may need for the season.

Good morning everyone. Schedules have been posted for the season. A reminder we will have opening ceremonies this Saturday at Sam Lynn. We will start at 9:00am, arrive by 8:30am. All teams will meet on field #2, located near Sam Lynn Park on the back side of field #5. The season will kick off after opening ceremonies. Also we want to remind everyone instead of a league fundraiser we are helping raise funds for a local charity this season. Thumbs Up, Cancer Down provides comfort bags to patients going through treatment in Kern County. Money raised stays here locally. Join us March 28th for Condors Hockey Night!
