Making sense of the situation is one of the most powerful concepts we can teach in mathematics. Unfortunately that message has been missed in a lot of mathematics classrooms. Over the past 5 years I have studied professional development for educators. Because of Adult Learning theory and decades of teacher surveys, we know a lot of how educators like to learn and how they learn best. We can now put all of that knowledge into creating professional development structures that benefit all educators.
