With the greatest joy we are thrilled to announce the arrival of our newest baby ballerina, Felicity Azlyn Skye. Born after 47 hours of labor, this seven-pound bundle of sweetness joined Laurel, Zack, Aria, and Scarlett on September 11, 2020. Sending love and congratulations to this beautiful family! We can't wait to meet you, Felicity!

It’s no secret that the pandemic has wreaked havoc on small businesses, and the Arts community is no exception. Safety protocols have required the long-term closure of theaters and studios, leaving students, teachers, and artists with a very daunting and precarious future. And yet, out of this uncertainty, immense resilience and creativity are born. We do not give up easily. In early March, NSB purchased its own building in south Chico. While the current circumstances do no...t allow for us to use it yet, the property also comes with a large plot of land at the back that we are able to build an expansive outdoor studio on. We are thrilled to announce that this new studio will be operational in October. With sprung floors and year-round cover (it has removable walls!), we will be able to safely offer classes to our students in all dance styles. Outdoor dance studios have long been utilized in both recreational and professional dance, and we are grateful for the guidance our mentors have laid out for us. Every storm eventually runs out of rain. May we view this pandemic as an opportunity to exhibit patience, kindness, and grace as we navigate this challenging experience together.

We are so excited to announce that we are now accepting applications for our 2020-2021 Accelerated Training Program performance and competition team. While our dancers have so much fun attending events and performing, our main goals are to accelerate the training of dancers wanting more & for them to be part of something that leads to friendships and life skills that will have infinite benefits. Event dates may be uncertain, but our goals will be met and the benefits of our program will NEVER be uncertain!
