Hello Norwalk families First of all we hope you and your families are all staying safe and we Thank you for your continued patience during these challenging times. We have new updates from Pony Headquarters that we would like to share with you guys.... Due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic PONY Baseball and Softball has made the difficult and disappointing decision to cancel its World Series tournaments for the first time in organization history. Along with that, the West Zone is canceling all PONY sanctioned tournaments for 2020. (Allstars) Norwalk Pony is continuing to assess our local operations according to state guidelines. Our main priority is the health, safety & wellness of our athletes & families. We are also still following the lead of our local school district and city officials. Norwalk Sports & Rec. have confirmed our local fields will continue to be closed till June 30th. Our board members have met virtually to devise a plan of action and we are planning alternatives for possible summer and fall ball seasons that we can discuss at a later time. But for now we have decided Norwalk Pony will be crediting a portion of your registration fees paid, to your childs Spring 2021 membership. Should anything change, I will let everyone know ASAP! Thanks for your support! Please remember stay safe, stay healthy and stay home! We Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Please feel free to email us your questions or concerns. [email protected] We are awaiting delivery of league pictures. Once we devise a plan to distribute with social distances in place of course we will notify everyone Evelyn Magallanes Norwalk Pony president

Good evening Norwalk families Thank you for your patience during these challenging times. Norwalk Pony is following the lead of our local school district and city officials. In light of orders issued by Governor Newsom and Los Angeles County officials we are now extending closure of our softball season till May 5th. Our executive board met over the weekend and we are looking to continue our Spring season as soon as we are allowed. Options are Summer Ball to continue into Fall Ball. We understand some kids play other sports during the summer and fall seasons so we are planning alternatives to be discussed at a later time. Should anything change, I will update everyone ASAP! Thanks for your support! Please remember stay safe, stay healthy and stay home! Evelyn Magallanes

Norwalk Pony will comply with their request. As of today 3/13/2020, all practices, games and team gatherings will be suspended. Our main priority is the health, safety & wellness of our athletes & families. We will wait for more information from ...the Health Department, CDC & Pony Baseball/Softball Organization. We will continue to monitor the situation locally, and will adjust as necessary. We hope to have our season up and running in no time. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time. Many of our parents have expressed concerns over the increasing number of cases of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) being reported across the world, Norwalk ponytail softball wants to provide its members with guidelines and best practices outlined by various National and International agencies. We are monitoring all these agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the State Department, United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), and The World Health Organi...zation (WHO) for the latest updates. USSSA softball is immediately instituting a "no contact no handshake policy" to be observed at every level of the organization until further notice. This includes all physical contact and extends to customary level activities, such as pre- game coaches hand-shakes, umpire coach introductions, and post-game hand-shakes between members of the opposing teams. Instead staff, players and coaches should use verbal queues, such as saying "good game," without shaking hands, high fiving or fist bumping. We are also monitoring any updates USSSA Softball, makes or announces, and will communicate any changes in the current softball policies regarding this issue. To reinforce health safety and best practices for illness prevention, please read the list below: Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Stay home when you are sick. Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash. Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe. Follow the CDC’s recommendations for using a facemask. The CDC recommends that ONLY people who are ill wear a face mask, as it can be an effective tool to help prevent the transmission of respiratory illnesses including Coronavirus. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty. For information about handwashing, see the CDC’s Handwashing website. These are everyday habits that can help prevent the spread of several viruses. -Norwalk pony BOARD
