In addition to needing gifts for our Foster Children in care, North Star Family/Wellness Center will be working with families who are currently in the immigration court process seeking asylum and live in rural areas with limited resources. We wanted to reach out for urgent assistance for the upcoming holidays. Our Participants children do not have the access to donations for toys/clothing for the holidays since they live in the surrounding areas of Fresno. We are kindly reaching out to the community to get theses some holiday gifts. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns

TAKING CARE OF EACH OTHER At Sierra Vista Elementary, staff was happy to see many children stopping by to pick up grab-and-go breakfasts and lunches. During t...he temporary closure of our classrooms through April 13, free meals for kids ages 1 to 18 are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays at: --Buchanan, Clovis East, Clovis North and Clovis West high schools; --Clark and Kastner intermediate schools; and --Clovis, Cole, Fancher Creek, Jefferson, Mickey Cox, Miramonte, Mountain View, Nelson, Pinedale, Sierra Vista, Tarpey, Temperance-Kutner, Valley Oak and Weldon elementary schools Kids should be present and can go to any of the district's sites to receive a meal. Watch for this evening's CUSD daily update that will be emailed to parents and posted to cusd.com. It will contain meal drop-off locations where grab-and-go meals will be delivered by our bus drivers and Campus Catering team to specific locations in the district. At Sierra Vista Elementary today, in addition to kids enjoying their carrots, banana and chicken sandwich, they also had a surprise literary treat. Books had been donated to the school by community members and were being offered to children to encourage continued reading during this time. One child, who was excited to receive a book, asked if he could donate some of his own books that he had finished reading so other kids could enjoy them. During these challenging times, it is an encouragement to see the generosity of our community -- and our students. In Clovis Unified, we will continue to care about one another. #InspiringExcellence
