Here is all the current information regarding COVID-19 and your pets. Please continue to stay at home and social distance. A reminder that we are closed on the weekends through the end of May.

North Hollywood Animal Care Center 06.10.2020

To our Clients: As we enter into our 3rd week of implementation of our social distancing policies, we again want to thank you for your patience while we work quickly to get your pets in and out of the clinic as efficiently as possible. A couple of reminders:... 1) We are only seeing patients by appointment only. Please call the front desk to schedule a time for your pet to be seen. We CAN NOT at this time do walk-in technician appointments such as toe nail trims and anal gland expressions or do any type of grooming procedures. 2) Please check-in via a telephone call to the front desk once you are in the parking lot. DO NOT enter the front door unless a member of our staff asks you to. If you are asked to enter the building, you must (by order of the Mayor and Governor) be wearing protective face covering. If you do not have a mask on, then your pet will be seen while you wait in the car. Due to the scarcity of medical PPE supplies, we will not be supplying you with a mask. 3) Please call ahead for refills of your pets prescription, medical supplies, or diet needs. We recommend that you be prepared for at least a month at a time. There is no need to overbuy or hoard supplies at this time. If you purchase food, medication and supplies in abundance, THESE ITEMS ARE NOT RETURNABLE, so do not purchase it, if you do not plan on using it. 4) If you or anyone in your household has any symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, please do NOT attempt to make an appointment or come into the clinic. It is your civic responsibility to self-isolate for 14 days until you are clear of symptoms or have been cleared by your health provider. If you need anything for your pet, send someone who can pick up and drop of supplies at your door step or utilize our on-line pharmacy. If you are an existing client and your pet has had a recent exam in the last 12 months, you can set up a telephone consultation (regular exam fees applicable) to determine whether it is something it can be treated/diagnosed via telemedicine. This week is Easter week and our staff will be observing the Holy Week. Our office will be open for business from 8 am- 5:30 pm Monday through Wednesday of this week. We will be closed from Thursday, April 9 until Monday, April 13. We will reopen for business on Tuesday, April 14 at 8 am. Please continue to listen to the recommendations of our local government. Our city and state is currently under Shelter in Place orders. This means you should Stay At Home unless it is absolutely necessary. The sooner we adhere to this policy, the faster we can return to business as usual. Thank you and please be safe. Dr. Sunada

Client Update: For those clients that have been understanding regarding our new policies for appointments and check-ins, as well as picking up food and supplies, we thank you for your patience and cooperation. These are uncertain times and by complying with our new policies, you have helped our staff work as efficiently as possible. We will be taking a short break starting Thursday, March 26 until Sunday, March 29. We will resume business hours on Monday March 30 at 8 am. Thi...s time off has been on the clinic calendar for 6 months now, and was supposed to be our regular Spring Break. For now, it just allows to take a deep breath and reset. We are also going to be closed on Saturdays for the month of April. This is because the community is accustomed to that being a vaccine clinic day and again, we can’t have more than 10 people congregate on a public area. There is also no feasible way to apply appropriate social distances of 6 ft apart with dogs on leashes and cats in carriers. When we return on Monday, we will be appointment only as we really must limit walk-ins because of the mandate of no more than 10 people at a time in a public space. Please understand we are just complying with those rules. At any time, any health or government official could force us to close if this not followed. It is also IMPERATIVE that we keep our staff safe. Please DO NOT come to the office if you or anyone in your household has symptoms of the COVID-19 virus - fever, cough, soreness, etc. Again, once any of my staff members show signs of illness, we will be forced to close and shut down for 14 days. Depending on how long we must continue these policies or how available medical supplies will be in the next coming weeks, we may be forced to scale down hours or only perform medically necessary procedures. That may mean we might have to postpone elective procedures such as spay and neuter in order to save medical supplies for potentially life saving surgeries. We will keep you updated as we are informed and it will be Dr. Sunada’s discretion on what surgeries remain on the schedule. So once again, thank you for cooperation. Stay safe. Stay home. Dr. Sunada

This is a reminder to our clients: The vaccination clinic scheduled for tomorrow is CANCELLED due to the government’s mandate that there can be no public gathering of 10 people or more. The COVID-19 pandemic issue is real and we must do what we can to reduce exposure to the staff and our community.... Our scheduled appointments will be seen, but please follow our social distancing policy and call when you are in the parking lot. We will check you in and then call you inside when we are ready to see your pet. Please be patient while we work to be able to continue to serve your pets needs. These changes are being implemented at the advisements of the CVMA, and we must do them in order to be able stay open for business. We are all making sacrifices and the small inconveniences we are experiencing right now will hopefully bring a swift resolution to this situation. Please take care and be safe. Dr. Sunada

To Our Clients: As you may be aware, the most recent mandate in response to the COVID-19 pandemic from both the Governor of CA as well as the Mayor of Los Angeles, is a full shelter in place lockdown. This means that no gathering of 10 or more people be allowed at a single site. In order to comply with this, we have no choice but to CANCEL our vaccination clinic that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 21. We will be open to see our scheduled appointments.... Our veterinary clinic is classified as an essential business and will remain open for scheduled appointments and surgical procedures going forward. However, we must strictly ENFORCE our social distancing policies mentioned in our previous notification. PLEASE DO NOT ENTER THE CLINIC WHEN YOU ARRIVE. We ask you to please call the front desk when you arrive so we can place you on the check in list. Once we are ready for you, a staff member will come out to get you and your pet into the exam room. We ask you to do the same if you are coming to the clinic to pick up food, medication, or medical supplies. PLEASE CALL THE CLINIC FIRST to let us know what you need. We will get everything ready and process payment on the phone. When you arrive, call the front desk and we will bring everything to you in your car. These are very uncertain times and once again things can change from day to day. It is very important that we do our best to keep everyone safe and healthy so that we can continue to serve your pets needs. We ask you to be patient and understanding during this time. Thank you. Dr. Sunada

To our clients: These are definitely uncertain times for everyone and as more information becomes available in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the Los Angeles area, we will do our very best to provide health care services for your pets as long as are able to. That being said, we are doing our best to try and minimize the possible spread of the virus to you and our staff by implementing frequent cleaning and disinfection of common areas in our facility. If you must make a...Continue reading

It’s getting close to fireworks time. Keep your pets indoor and secure tonight. Expect loud noises starting around 8 pm all the way to midnight in some locations. Toby says, Happy 4th of July!
