ADOPTED!! Youngster Walt & his half brother, Dallas, were surrendered to NCWR when illness & their family's financial circumstances made it impossible for them to keep the boys. Thanks to NCWR, Walt now has a new "brother" now, 6 year old Jack Russell Terrier mix, Mickey!... We've checked all the boxes on this home for Walt; his new Mom & Dad are ultra-marathon runners who exercise daily, so exercise...check! Bonus, Walt's new home in Auburn is near parks & trails! Mom & Dad work from home, so Walt will have plenty of companionship! Minimal alone time...check! NCWR is thrilled for Walt & his new life!

Meet Ginger <3 She is a 9 year old Vizsla/Weimaraner mix who is looking for a new home. Her parents recently moved and began commuting to work which left Ginger alone for longer than she likes! Ginger would love a home where someone can be with her and share some quality time together. Ginger is great with children and lives with cats too! She doesn't live with another dog, but gets along with fur friends nicely. If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet girl, send us a PM and we will give you more information <3

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue needs fosters for dogs of ALL ages. We specifically need fosters with minimal "alone time" without cats or small children, as many of our dogs are unknown with kitties or kiddies. Do you want to discuss or hear more? If so, please send us a PM. NCWR's dogs thank you.

**** Update**** We are still looking for a foster for sweet Mr Tor. Thank you to everyone who has reached out and offered to help. At this time we need a home w...ithout cats. Tor has no experience with them and we want to make his stay in a temporary home as easy on him as possible. Let us know if you can help! Meet Tor <3 We have a unique situation with this sweet 4-year old boy. His owner has fallen on some hard times and reached out to NCWR for some help. Normally this would entail a foster to adopt situation, but the love his owner has for Tor is so great that he requested a temporary foster. This would be long term spanning over several months and when his owner is back on his feet, he will welcome Tor back to the family. Tor is located in the San Francisco area and would love to warm your heart (and your couch) for a short stay. He does suffer from some anxiety and needs some TLC from an experienced Weimaraner owner. If you think this might be something you are interested in, please send us a PM and we can fill you in on a few more details!

Meet Lewis and Clark! They are 3 year old littermates, and NCWR is looking for a special family who wants a rare opportunity to adopt these two wonderful boys and double their fun and double the love! Lewis and Clark are well-behaved, loving, very bonded. Their owners must surrender them, and we are grateful they have entrusted us to assist with this difficult process. The boys are on the bigger side so good space to play is a must. They have been raised around a grandchild ...and are not destructive though occasionally mischievous. Both are crate trained and house broken. They will need to work on perfecting their leash walking skills, as they have been leading a more rural life until now. Lewis is prone to mild separation anxiety. He warms up to strangers well after proper introductions and has a bit of a sensitive stomach, so he cannot eat just any kibble and does best with the one he is currently on (or very similar ingredients).Clark is a chill dude that gets along with everyone and everything. He could use a more rigorous exercise regimen and while about 100 lbs. now, his ideal weight is probably more like his brother at 85 or so pounds. One of our most trusted volunteers visited them at their home with his female Weim and they did great. We would confidently place them with other friendly females. If you have interest in bringing TONS of love into your life, please fill out the application and indicate your interest in these beautiful three-year-olds http://form.jotform.com/83225916998170. We and Lewis and Clark thank you!

Dear Max is still looking for his Forever home. He is a sweet five year old male Weim that was surrendered after spending much of his life as an outdoor only dog. His owner felt he needed more attention and asked us to step in. He required some routine vet care and is now ready to find his forever home. Max loves being in the house with his wonderful foster family so much, he would rather not share with another dog; so he really needs to be the only pup in the home. He is fri...endly and sweet with all adults, but is unknown with younger children so we are seeking an adopter with teens or older kids only, and no kitties. Max is active and strong, and enjoys daily exercise typical of his breed. He has had enough alone time in his young life so would benefit from someone to hang out with most of the time. If you think you can provide him with the gift of a forever home for the Holidays, please send us a message on Facebook. See more

ADOPTED!!!! Luna was purchased from Tijuana, but a dog-loving neighbor observed that she was left outside all day & barked constantly. Luna's new parents lost their Weimaraner last year & were looking for another to share in their adventures!... Luna's new home in Walnut Creek has access to miles of trails for walks & runs. Luna & Mom & Dad enjoy daily runs on weekdays & longer runs & hikes on weekends. Mom & Dad work from home so Luna is rarely alone...Luna will accompany Mom & Dad for errands, road trips & camping, too! Luna is working on new tricks & enjoying the training, treats & attention! Luna's Life is Good!!! See more

ADOPTED!! Jaeger totally charmed his Foster Parents, who have decided that they can't imagine a life without him! Jaeger was surrendered by his guardians who owned a boarding & training facility, but neglected to fully socialize him. Mom & Dad work from home, so Jaeger never has to be lonely.... Jaeger & his new family enjoy their Truckee neighborhood & water sports around Lake Tahoe. Mom says that Jaeger is such a good, sweet boy & has completely embraced his new home!

ADOPTED!! This handsome blue puppy was surrendered to NCWR when his previous guardians realized that they were not prepared for the high activity level of a young Weimaraner boy. But his new Weim experienced parents knew just what they wanted & that was Axl Rose! Axl now has the dream life of traveling with his new Mom & Dad & visiting other Weimaraners for playdates.... Dad & Axl work on obedience daily, so that he can continue to be a great companion & family dog. Mom & Dad say Axl is such a good boy with a fun personality & they feel blessed to have him. Axl & family take daily hikes near their Redding home. Hugs to you, Axl!

Meet sweet Gunner! He is a 9 year old male that looks and acts much younger, so don’t let his age fool you! He still has lots of energy and love to give. He was found as a stray, very thin, and ended up at a shelter. However, Gunner’s luck soon changed. He is now in one of NCWR’s wonderful foster homes, where he is putting on weight and getting healthy. Gunner is very loving toward people and is enjoying the company of the humans in his foster home and that of his foster Wei...m sister, so he would love a forever home with a female dog companion to show him the ropes. He can be a bit sensitive to touch at times, when something hurts or bothers him, and his foster family is working with him on that. Gunner’s foster family reports that he loves to play fetch he will even bring the ball back! He is smart and learns quickly - he has already learned sit, hi-five, shake and down. He is very treat motivated, so additional training should be enjoyable for him. Gunner is very strong, especially for his age, and he is currently perfecting his leash walking skills in his foster home. He is unknown with cats and small children, so we are looking for a home for him without kitties or young kids. If you are interested in adopting dear Gunner, please send us a message on Facebook

ADOPTED! Kahula was surrendered after having an altercation with a neighborhood dog, but she has an awesome new Dad! Kahula & Dad & had a real adventure, visiting several states on the way to their home in Idaho. Kahula's job is to heal her new Dad's heart after the recent loss of his beloved Buckaroo. ADOPTED!! 10 year old Kiki was surrendered to NCWR because her guardian had to care for his elderly relatives. But Kiki has landed nicely on her feet (paws!) in a wonderful home that welcomes senior girls! Her new Mom works from home so Mom & Kiki will be inseparable. Kiki will have many daily walks & has not one, but two sunny decks for her sunbathing pleasure!... As Mom has supported the Weim Country Gala for years by donating her snuggly fleece blankets, we're sure that Kiki will have her own "wardrobe" of blankies, just for her. And wait until Kiki discovers the family cabin! Bonus! Mom says they are VERY happy that Kiki has joined the family!

ADOPTED!! Tess was in need of a new home when her adoring guardian, a beloved NCWR Volunteer, suddenly died. NCWR lost an ardent Weimaraner Lover & friend. Tess's new parents had wanted to add a Weimaraner to their family for several years, so when Tess became available, they jumped at the chance!... Tess's new Mom grew up around Weimaraners & has expertise in the field of dog training as a dog sitter & trainer where she worked with many Weims. Lucky Tess has landed in Doggy Paradise on acreage in Santa Barbara which leads on to many trails in Montecito & is only minutes from the dog beach. Tess's new doggy grandparents live in the adjoining property with her new Labrador Retriever playmates, Pride & Joy! Mom & Dad work from home, so Tess will have constant companionship. Tess will have an active lifestyle with two daily hikes & longer weekend hikes with neighbors & their dogs! We are thrilled for beautiful Tess!
