Woohoo! This caramel furball is Lino, and he has quite the zest for life! Lino is an energetic guy who’s looking for a home where he can get regular mental and physical workouts. Lino is 4 years old and 54 lbs. He came into the shelter as an owner surrender on 12/28/20 when his previous owner moved. Lino was then adopted in February, but found himself back at the shelter the next day. Lino is very smart, connected, and fun to train! He loves to fetch and will return the ball,... ‘drop’, & ‘sit’ upon request. He even knows ‘wait!’ *He can be protective of his food and his toys though, so a home without children, and with someone experienced who can work with him on his guarding issues is recommended.* Lino recently met a large female dog on leash at the shelter. After some initial excitement, he was able to share space appropriately. He will need more practice socializing with other dogs. We want to see this active boy have the full life and stability he needs to stay happy! Call about making Lino your trail buddy today! LINO #A1782018 ___________ 1 Call 888-452-7381 with Lino’s ID # & LAAS will share all the information available. 2 If you’re interested in moving forward with the adoption, LAAS will take your information and complete the adoption paperwork by phone. 3 LA Animal Services will schedule a pick-up appointment for you to meet and bring your new companion home. *Lino is currently at South LA Shelter 1850 W. 60th St. Los Angeles, CA 90047 ___________ #rescueme #adopt #rescue #trainyourdog #workingdog #fetchnfun #jindomix #takemehome #startastoryadopt #happydoghappylife #shelterdogsrock #laanimalservices #seenequalssaved

Finally got the chance to spend time with Cesar personally and can see why the volunteers all love him!! Always a fun dog to take out. Friendly and affectionate. Engaged with handlers, but also content to entertain himself. Has done well with the numerous dogs we’ve paired him with at the shelter. Tends to have a rowdier (body bumping, mouthy, energetic) play style, but has dialed it back for calmer dogs. He has what appears to be an old, healed injury to his left front p...aw so he should be seen by a private vet upon adoption/rescue. Cesar came into South LA shelter on January 31, 2021 as an owner surrender, due to moving. He’s 5 years old and about 75 lbs. #Repost @rockyspals play dates with other dogs: https://youtube.com/playlist Cesar is eligible for free training through the @pawsforlifek9 program when he is adopted or rescued! FOSTER PUPDATE! Meet Odie! He’s 6 years old, 69 lbs., and originally came to the East Valley shelter on 1/16/21 as an owner surrender. Odie was lucky enough to spend a month in foster care this Spring, giving him a break and helping us to learn a bit more about him.. now to find Odie’s FOREVER home! Odie’s fosters shared that though he can be a bit of a couch potato, he also loves to fetch and run, and he likes to learn!- he knows ‘sit’, ‘down’, and was mastering ‘shake.’ ...Some adorable things about Odie they also shared- he gives kisses when he needs to go out, he has floppy lips that sweep the floor, and he always falls asleep and snores during family TV time. Hehe! Odie can be a bit anxious when left alone and when he sees other dogs on leash, so we would recommend crate training in a new home and continued slow, proper socialization with other dogs. He does need a home without small dogs. Odie did improve on leash during that month with the help of a gentle leader. We sure would like to see Odie fetch himself a home to stay for always. Call about meeting Odie today! Odie #A1964220 *Through our volunteer fundraiser (link in bio), we will help support Odie’s adopter with a training session to help set them up for success! ___________ LAAS Shelters are closed at this time to public. Hello hello from Rawly, our dog of the week! Rawly wants to tell you about when he was in foster care a couple months back. He had the best time! Check out this star in action, showing off the training he got while in foster. Rawly loves learning new tricks. Rawly’s fosters, who had him a month, reported that Rawly is really the sweetest boy and loves affection, playing with his toys, and being close to his people. His faves are hikes, car rides, playing chase and getting... food out of his puzzle toy. They also shared that Rawly was excitable the 1st week they had him, but calmed and showed his sweet personality with structure and crate training. They reported he did well being left at home in the crate and is also potty trained. Now Rawly very much wants to find a forever home to show off these skills in! How has this cutie been without a family for 8 months?! Click on Rawly’s # below to see more posts about him, and call about adopting Rawly today! If adopted or rescued, Rawly is eligible for free training with Paws For Life K9 Rescue in their Prison Training Program for 6 weeks. I’m the cutest Freda cat you’ll likely ever meet. I’m a two-year-old, spayed female, wearing what looks like a tuxedo. But maybe not. Maybe it’s a black-and-white frock meant for a charming eight-pound feline, like me. I was deposited here, at East Valley, by someone who may or may not have owned me. But never mind, despite the scratches on my nose and a tear in my ear, I’m good now. I’ve been here since Oct. 15. I’ve loved being pet and head-scratched. Reportedly, I lived ...with another cat (that I was not so fond of unfortunately) and maybe also a dog. Mostly, I think I was outdoors a lot. What I wouldn’t give for a home, where I can sit in a window and watch the world go by. Please Adopt me! FREDA FREDA (fka Fred) #A1955931 ___________ LAAS Shelters are closed at this time to public. Let me intro myself. I am a TOMMY CAT. A handsome, three-year-old, neutered #tabby boy. As good-looking as I am, you might expect I got around pretty good until I ended up here. I have a lot of stories to tell about the stray life and I’m eager to tell them, I’m quite vocal, in fact. Especially when volunteers rub my stunning, brown, striped 10-pound bod and I respond with a sonorous Meow! I’ve been here, at East Valley, since Oct. 4. I have been treated for a little kitt...y cold, but I’m ready now to go where my heart leads me - straight to you! Adopt me, kitty please. Terry has a heart of gold, and unfortunately this sweet lady’s resilience has been tested time and time again. This beautiful babe is a chill gal who just wants someone to give her the forever TLC she deserves. Terry was originally adopted back in October of 2017. She was surrendered back to the shelter for no time this July 7, 2020 46 lbs heavier and with a few masses on her body. This 8 year old girl now weighs 100 lbs (she has lost 6 since intake). This breaks our heart...s to see, and we just want Terry to be spoiled and living the healthy and indoor life she deserves. Her previous owners reported that Terry was gentle with other dogs, and that she spent time with 9 year old and 16 year old kids, and liked to play ball. Please step up for sweet Terry! Let’s get her out of the shelter for good! Sweet Leena needs a long term foster or adopter asap! This special girl has been in foster for 7 months, but her foster parents’ work situation has recently changed, and Leena now needs an ADOPTER or LONG TERM FOSTER before 10/31. Miss Leena was rescued by @lovethatdoghollywood and attended @pawsforlifek9 training program. She’s 4 years old, 60 lbs. and currently lives with two other dogs, one large and one small dog (under supervision). Please read what her foster shares and... contact her Rescue- Love that Dog Hollywood- at [email protected] meet her ASAP! Leena is a beautiful grey brindle pit bull mix with a sweet gentle soul. Leena absolutely loves cuddles and pets, and just enjoys being around people. She is silly and stubborn, absolutely loves food, and enjoys playing with toys. Some of her quirks are that she howls at fire truck sirens and loves to do yoga with people. () She also enjoys laying outside to sunbathe. She takes treats gently. Corrects well on leash. She can get distracted on walks, so could probably use some brush up skills. Loves to army crawl in grass. She is crate trained, house trained, and low energy in house. Leena has been good with both of my dogs, especially since I introduced them slowly (over the course of a month) before I let them hang out together. She will need slow and proper intros with other dogs. In Jan 2020, Leena suffered a spinal injury; She has since recovered and now just needs someone to make sure she gets her medicine and simple physical therapy exercises regularly. She is able to use stairs and can take short to moderate walks. Leena is an amazing dog that deserves a loving home and family to call her own. She definitely has a place in our hearts, but we wouldn't be able to give her what she needs when we go back to work. ___________ #adoptme #A1811616 #rescuedogsrock #adoptabledog #adoptdontshop #startastoryadopt #fosterdog #fosterme #takemehome #sharemystory

What can we say about lovable Gary! For starters, he’s a brown and white, fudge-hunk of a guy. Guesstimated to be about 10 years old, he’s been at East Valley shelter since June 28, 2020! He has a great smile, which hides the fact his old life might have been hard. Could be, Gary spent a lot of time outdoors. He’s fairly shy around the staff and volunteers, but he loves a good head scratch! This sweet senior has offered kisses as he’s come to know staff here. He’s a mellow f...ellow, who’s independent, and doesn’t need much to feel content. Volunteers say he’s non-reactive, easy to leash and unleash and seems house trained. This neutered, 57-pound lab-looking dog just needs a new #bff to help him learn how fun a dog’s life can be! Rescue Gary! GARY #A1942582 ___________ LAAS Shelters are closed at this time to public. SOS! Petunia is RED ALERT URGENT and NEEDS OUT RIGHT AWAY! This beautiful girl has been in and out of shelter life for over two years, and we desperately want to see her rescued and safely out of the shelter for good. Petunia has been in foster a few times this year, and her former fosters love her and also desperately want to see her get out. Her foster, who shared these photos also, says Petunia is a big girl full of love. She’s very easy -going. She loves to snuggle. She’...s gentle with humans. She’s house trained and doesn’t chew on anything. We absolutely love her and wish we could have kept her. While in a recent foster home though, Petunia escaped the yard and was involved in an altercation with a small dog, several people were trying to separate them and were bit in the process. It is unknown whether the people were bit by Petunia or the small dog being attacked. Because of this, Petunia is now RESCUE ONLY. She should live without small pets, and is looking for a rescuer who can commit to her training. Petunia has participated in playgroup at West and South LA shelters, and has done well with other large dogs with a similar play style. This beautiful 76 lbs girl is just 4 years old, and we so want to see her enjoy the safe and happy life she deserves! PLEASE NETWORK PETUNIA! My name is Micksi, and I look like I should be on the cover of a Vogue CATalogue. I’m a 13-pound, neutered male, about 19 months old. I was owner surrendered, after eight months, for disdaining the litter box, (which may not have been all my fault). As you can see, I could be a designer feline, with my handsome white coat, selectively decorated with black spots (note my tail markings, please). But, like you, I know looks aren’t everything; personality is! And, I have plenty o...f that. I’m playful with toys and I love being pet. I’m an indoor cat, as you might have guessed: Selfie-ready. I’ve been at the shelter since Sept. 22, slowly adjusting to volunteers; still a bit leery of other cats. But I’m more than ready for a new home to call my own. Cat fanciers - Please adopt me. This week’s Happy Tail adoption story comes from Ron and Kelsey who adopted Lou. We are over the moon for Lou, who in his past life, was an urgently alerted dog named Blue Yonder at North Central, who was adopted (Thank you Meg!!) at the last minute last year! It’s stories like Lou’s that make it all worth it! Thank you Ron and Kelsey, for giving this boy the life of his dreams! We absolutely hit the JACKPOT the day Lou came into our lives. I had only just begun considering... getting a pup when our friend Meg contacted me about this pitbull she had just rescued at the very last second and was trying to find a home for. I’d never thought of owning a pittie but as soon as I saw Lou it was love at first sight. Lou spent a month with the @PawsforlifeK9 program after which I arranged to have Lou travel cross-country from CA to my apartment in VA; even on that very first night, in a brand new space with a total stranger, all he wanted to do was curl up next to me and sleep. He is one of the BEST road trip partners and adores long car rides. He loves singing along with sirens, playing tug-of-war, and curling up on the couch like a little cinnamon bun. It’s been a WILD couple of months since Lou came to us in December but his big, goofy grin gets bigger and bigger every day. We love our little hippopotamus!!!! If you found your furry family member at North Central, please send us your adoption story to share! Or if you’re looking to adopt or foster, message us to find the perfect match. ___________ #adopted #foreverhomefound #friendforlife #adoptdontshop #shelterpetsarethebest #startastoryadopt #pittielove #pitbulladvocate #laanimalservices #adoptionstory #happytail #happytale

Sweet Fudge looks so improved since her intake in June! And she recently had a play date with a small dog (Banjo #A1953724- See comments for video) at the shelter. Let’s help this girl find her lucky person- share, or call to adopt or foster her today! You know the saying, Ah, Fudge - well, here I am! Just a sweetheart of a female dog, waiting for you to scoop me up and take me home. I’m a spayed, eight-year-old, 54-pound, hunk of chocolate and vanilla love. I enter...ed the South LA shelter as a stray on June 8 (now at @westla_shelter). I looked a bit worse for the wear, and I wasn’t micro-chipped, but ears-clipped. I came in with some skin irritation and some mild dental disease. But other than that - Staff says I’m so alert, playful and affectionate. I’m not reactive to other dogs here, and I walk easily on a leash. I know how to sit and relax. The command, Sit may be the one command I know, but I’m eager to please and to learn more in my new life. So, If you’re looking for unconditional love, I think you found me. Ask for Fudge.
