Interesting case on #30 retreatment - x-ray reveals radiolucent lesion in the furcation. No periodontal probing depths were noted. Tooth was cleaned, shaped, and medicated w/ CaOH. PA X-ray of tooth after placement of CaOH showed expression into the furcation (hightlighted by red arrow). CBCT taken confirmed a lateral accessory canal(red arrow) and likely presence of a middle mesial canal(blue arrow). Tooth was left medicated long-term. By the time we finished the case today, the lesion in the furcation had mostly resolved. #savingteeth #healing #patientpatients
Just a case we finished up this week. #19 - Pulpal necrosis w/ symptomatic apical periodontitis Happy Friday!!!
#12 - Interesting case of a retreatment after apicoectomy Patient received a root canal approximately 1 year prior at another office that became persistently symptomatic. Due to persistent symptoms, an apicoectomy was completed by the same clinician shortly after. After the apicoectomy, the patient experienced no resolution in symptoms. The patient was then referred over to our office. The initial PA x-ray would indicate 2 canals instrumented and obturated w/ a non-he...aling osteotomy from the apicoectomy. A CBCT was taken showing that a palatal canal was previously missed. We recommended a retreatment w/ a possible revision of the apicoectomy. We placed CaOH long-term in the canals, and a nice healing response was noted on the day of obturation (final x-rays are from day of obturation). Another apicoectomy is unlikely to be needed as the process of healing is already taking place. #savingteeth #endodontics #rootcanals #noextraction #herodontics See more
We would like to thank Dr. Nicolle Miller and the wonderful staff from Mission Hills Family Dental for this wonderful gift basket that we received! We really appreciate the opportunity to work with your office. We wish everyone a happy and safe holiday!
#14 retreatment - Patient took quite the drive from the LA area to come to our office for a 2nd opinion. 2 canals were previously missed (MB2 and DB2). All 5 canals stayed separate. Patient will be back in 6 months to evaluate for healing. #savingteeth #happypatient

Thank you Dr. Irmina Martinez and staff from Dental Care of Oceanside! We appreciate the opportunity to work with your office! We enjoyed the Panera bagels!
#18 Irreversible pulpitis w/ symptomatic apical periodontitis - A middle mesial canal was found and a lateral canal always give the final x-rays a nice touch. All three mesial canals were really close together making it tough to separate on the last x-ray.
#19 - Patient had cracked tooth symptoms causing persistent pain. Nice way to finish up the day!
#19 to finish up our day!
This patient was practicing his Taekwondo and was hit in the face a while back. Diagnosis was #25 pulpal necrosis w/ asymptomatic apical periodontitis. Very large periapical lesion was noted along w/ internal resorption at the apex on the preliminary PA x-ray. I placed long-term intracanal CaOH to see if we could initiate some healing prior to finishing/obturation. The final x-ray is the day of obturation. Some extruded CaOH beyond the apex is noted, but should continue to dissolve. Excited to see the patient back in 6 months to see the amount of healing. #noapicoectomy
#2 - Long and curvy roots. Took quite a bit of time, but enjoyed the fruits of my labor with a nice result.
#14 - Patient came into our office with a swelling. Bone loss periapically was fairly severe so we placed a long-term intracanal medicament. The final x-ray is the day of completing the root canal. We were able to get quite a bit of resolution prior to finishing. #happyhealing
