This is our son carrying our grandchildren. He has served more than 2 decades in the USAF. Memorial Day. It's not just another reason to enjoy a long weekend. It's a day to remember those who have given their lives so that we can be FREE. This photo, of my Fighter Pilot Son holding our two grands as he walked toward his next assignment, is just a glimpse at the sacrifices military families make to protect our liberty. And many have paid the ultimate price. This weekend, I'm... thinking of, and praying for, the families I know who have lost their son, daughter, husband, daddy, sibling, friend. And for the countless others I have never met, I'm praying for you too. May God grant you His peace, comfort and joy as you recall your loved one and proudly remember their sacrifice for this great country of ours. On my way to Ministers Wives Retreat last weekend I got to stop in on our dear friends Dan & Penny @pen_coin What a delight it is that the Lord puts life-long-friends in our lives to love, enjoy and encourage I first met Penny in the ‘70s. She was the school secretary when I was in jr high at a christian school that had a VERY STRICT dress code that included knee length dresses for the girls. ... In the 1970’s super SHORT sizzler skirts were in fashion. (Maybe you remember?) I can’t tell you how many times I got sent to the office b’cuz my skirts were too short! Penny always laughed. Gave me that look and then handed me the phone to call my mother to bring me a longer skirt Like...I never learned. Always pushed the envelope and always got busted. But her responses were always THE BEST! Maybe I just liked getting sent to the office to hang out with Penny And Dan was my Bible teacher back in those days too (I decorated a sheet cake with a map of the Apostle Paul’s journeys) which we promptly ate in class after he gave me an A+ Years later their son DJ would be in our youth group & DJ would end up going into ministry too. DJ is with the Lord now and he is missed so much by his family and all who knew him. I have such great memories and memorized SO much scripture from my years in Christian schools. My Dad is my hero for working SO HARD to pay for his kids to attend private schools. Annnnd I met @swstoppe while attending that school #realliferomance #thanksdad

These Women have my heart. A lifetime ago in @lakewaytexas Stoppe & I were blessed to be part of a church plant that began in our home. What an incredible season of ministry, evangelism, and growth for all of us. Jesus knit our hearts together in the sweetest fashion. I was scheduled to be with y’all in 2020 but Covid I’m praying the Lord opens doors for me to come and minister to and with you again very soon. My dear friend @ieprnt posted these memories the other day i...n honor of the birthday of our sweet friend @annedurrett and it brought back all the feels.
