One of the first skills I teach to any child that walks into my gym is to SET A GOAL. It could be simple, to us adults easy, but to a 4 year old it could be CHALLENGING, SCARY, and could look TOO FAR AWAY. I’ve noticed when I give individual goals custom to the specific child it separates them from others. This skill will follow them through their lives. 25 years teaching children to set goals and watching them demolish them is something that Not only teaches them to believe ...in themselves but also to trust in me. I know when to push, when to back off, and when I’ve seen the breakthrough in children as young a 4 get to a place they never thought they would accomplish. Life skills are taught by good leaders and role models. My love for this sport is only shown through my students.
