In both in person and virtual ways. We are accepting ideas & WE LOVE YOU SO DEEPLY. MORE MORE SOON! Nook Gallery & Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo #letstalkaboutartinthekitchen #nookloveforever See more

We will be creating a printed and online yearbook and we welcome all drawn, photographed, written, sculpted, memories, stories, experiences! What was it like to walk into the Nook Gallery for the first time? How would you describe the Nook Galleries influence on the Bay Area? What are you ...going to miss the most? How long have you ever sat in the Nook for? What does the Nook future look like to you? On the last day of July, our community is welcome to come wish the Nook Gallery goodbye and pick up a copy of the yearbook (contact free pick up). And for our family beyond the Bay, the yearbook will also live online! Submission info: -Fill out this form: https://forms.gle/DpzTEDGTQhFR2mAD6 -Max submission size: 8.5 x 11, you can submit up to 5 files -Full color & B+W submissions accepted -We welcome all drawn, photographed, written, sculpted, memories, stories, experiences! -Submissions are due by July 26, 2020, 7pm PST Since it’s birth in Fall 2015, Nook Gallery has given 81+ Black, Indigenous, Queer, Trans, Womxn, POC artists - an inclusive, accessible and intimate site for visual art, lectures, workshops, critical dialogues, film screenings, meals and performances. The seating nook transformed into gallery in our kitchen, gives the artist(s) a clear and unique space to work with, and present work within. Thinking about the importance of gathering around a table, what does it mean to come together for a meal or to cook together, for art, for critical discussion, for storytelling? Bringing community together is what we strive to do as artists, culture makers, curators, writers and performers in the world. The Nook Gallery offers a possibility for supporting and nurturing this gathering, telling and being together. Lukaza Branfman-Verissimo is the Lead Curator and Director of Programming.
