These installations are anchored by a large-scale projection at the Hammer. Visit our website to see a map of all the BLKNWS locations.
Ofrenda is an offering, a gift, a blessing. It is an invitation to an inner journey, a journey back home. Presented on the Spring Equinox, 2021. As part of the ongoing exhibition Gatherings, LAND presents a year of virtual programs with artist Kathryn Garcia. Marking the passing of time, the virtual offerings are guided meditations with the artist, presented within Garcia’s immersive sculptural environments set in different landscapes. At a time when we are physically distanced from one another, Garcia’s practice invites us to go within and connect on a deeper level with our bodies, the earth and each other. Influenced by ancient matriarchal cultures, Garcia seeks union and collective healing driven by the divine feminine, bridging past, present, and future.

This is a picture of the LAND team from the office last week. If only we had known that would be the last office day for a while maybe we would have appreciated it more! LAND is truly a team effort, thanks to a group of amazing people working on different projects from across LA. Even though we have had to postpone many of our upcoming projects and there is so much uncertainty, we remain committed to the artists we are working with and the projects in development. We thought we would take this time to introduce you to the team, share what we are working on and what is keeping us inspired these days. #LANDteam
