Despite being so young, he already knows what he loves, which are long, stretched out lie downs with chin & belly scratches! He also loves sitting in the bathtub and pondering all things cat, playing with his nana phone/any catnip toy and playing with other kitties! He seems to really care about the other cats he meets and shows ge...nuine interest in them. He also loves & is bonded with his sister Katy Perry, as you can see from the pictures. Even though Katy has a more independent energy, they balance each other out beautifully. He also likes to express his opinions on cat life and engage in "meowy" conversation! Katy Perry is as beautiful and independent as the woman she is named after. She is full of energy, alert, and always ready to pounce. She is cautious at first, but with a few days of love and affection she'll start to open up to pets and cuddles. She loves looking out the window on a perch, so being able to look outside is a must! She also loves playing with toy mice, observing other cats around her, and sitting in high places. She also loves & is bonded with her "brother", Ash. Even though he is different and has a more open and low-key energy level, they balance each other out beautifully. Katy is a relatively quiet cat, but that's okay because Ash has the voicing of opinions for both of them covered! Both she and Ash are very low maintenance in terms of needing attention, but they still love to cuddle and get pets. It's the weekend! Today we're bringing you Sapphire from Angel City Pit Bulls. Smiling, snuggling Sapphire is ready to bring her zen-like friendship and silly mojo to your home! Every morning, she begins the day with a ritual: she sits and presses herself into her foster mom’s chest, getting a long pet and a face massage, complete with piggy snorts and her chin on her FM’s shoulder. If you need a buddy for your morning mindfulness or coffee, Sapphire volunteers (but please d...on’t stop petting her!). Massages, snuggles, and pats are always welcome in Sapphire’s book, and she’s made a name for herself as Best Hugger once she gets to know you. But it’s not all rest and relaxation for Sapphire! She has an adventurous side, too, and is happy to go on nice neighborhood walks, or her favorite thing: Car rides! (Seriously, she’ll try to get in any open car door--so make sure it’s yours!) She loves to be in the car, letting the nice windy sniffs and smells wash over her. She’ll happily accompany you for car adventures to scenic overlooks or meandering hikes. At home, Sapphire has nice house manners and enjoys relaxing and helping out with taste testing snacks--she enjoys pretty much anything, including veggies that she loves to crunch! She’ll show you her silly side, too, with little zooms and spurts of energy complete with tip-tapping toenails that will make you smile. Sapphire received 6 weeks of training from our partners at the Paws For Life prison training program. With a little consistency and structure, she makes for a fantastic best friend. Today's NKLA Coalition Partner Pet of the Day is Denali, from Wagging Dog Rescue. Hi, I’m Denali, and I am SO EXCITED to be here! I mean, it sure beats the streets of Bakersfield where lovely people found me wandering. I was pretty sick and overweight with open wounds and a terrible sunburn (I’m pale, folks the shade is my friend) but even though I wasn’t feeling my best, I was sooo grateful to be taken care of by kind humans. I’m a 5 year old cancer survivor who’s doing gr...eat after having several tumors removed. Oh, and I’m deaf but it’s no big. I see everything! I’ve been recovering in a foster home, losing weight thanks to a twice daily thyroid supplement, growing lovely snow white fur, and having regular spa days such luxury! I’m the perfect petite size at 42 lbs., and honestly I’m a completely different dog now! I’m hoping to find a compassionate adopter, or a forever foster family who will protect me from the sun’s harmful rays and help me to live my healthiest, happiest life. In return, I’ll be the most loving, affectionate doggy ever because once you’ve won my trust, I’m yours. Okay, yes, I’m a little nervous around new people, a little insecure in new situations, and I might turn into a pancake until I know it’s safe to show my lovebug personality but I’m always willing to try and to trust. If you’ve got a nice gentleman dog-friend for me, I might love to play with him, but I’m also happy just being with my people. My perfect home is a quieter house with low foot traffic, older respectful children if any, and a private yard with lots of shade.
