"Thanks so much to you and your wonderful church for delivering the school meals to my sons! They are delighted and so excited!" This was one parents grateful and gracious response after school meals were delivered to her children. Let Pastor Joy or Pastor Dylan know if you can pick-up or deliver meals to families from our neighboring Jefferson Elementary this Tuesday from 2:00 - 3:30pm! Pick up is at A.P. Giannini and/or Lincoln High School.

Last Sunday on All Saint's Day, Pastor Joy read the names of many dear friends and family that have gone on ahead of us to be in Heaven, as Pastor Dylan lit a candle for each of those departed souls.

Yesterday, Dylan and Emily delivered a week’s worth of meals to students of neighboring Jefferson Elementary School. SF’s shelter-in-place mandate and remote learning have presented many challenges for Sunset families to balance childcare, employment and meal prep during the pandemic. NABC continues to evolve in order to best serve our community as Jesus calls us.

Martin Family Ministry Update: Dear Friends, I just returned from a prayer meeting at a local church where we prayed specifically for the US and the elections.... Please pray join us in praying about the US elections--for the Lord's mercy on us all, for the Lord to put a heart of repentance in all of us who need it, for the Lord to protect people's lives and property, for the election of leaders of the kind "that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness," for guidance as we all look to the future, and for us to remember who truly reigns! Please also pray about all Etsuko and I must do to prepare and send our annual printed and mailed ministry update, something we work diligently on every November. Please pray that we express well all we should and prepare it well, that it reaches you and others in a timely manner, and that the Lord calls more senders, and more of the sending support we need now, through it. Do make sure you let us know if you'd like to receive the printed and mailed newsletter, please! And, if you've moved since last year, please send us your new mailing address. (Just hit "reply" when you get this message to easily send us the information.) We're glad to make sure everyone who wants the special newsletter receives it, and only a little over half of those of you who are in this emailed update group have signed up for the yearly mailed update, something you can easily post, have with your Bible to pray for us, and share with others, if you feel led to do so. Lastly, please thank the Lord with us and ask Him to give us wisdom in the fantastic friendships and ministry opportunities He's giving us here on this "furlough" in Knoxville, Tennessee, all just in a little over five months of landing on May 27th! Among other things, I was able to join in the prayer meeting I went to tonight, we've been able to prepare some food for a local pastor's family (he, his family, and his church family, too, are dealing with Hodgkin's lymphoma he's been fighting) and we also got to help in a local church's Halloween community outreach efforts this past Saturday. We've also been asked to participate in a support-raising event this next week-end for the local ministry that's helping us and other missionaries here called Missional Living. We're excited that our ministry is broadening, especially now during this very challenging time in the US and worldwide. And other good things are happening, too! But I don't want to spill all the beans in this emailed update! Thank you for your part in our lives and ministry! I'll end with a prayer of blessing for you, sung by several Japanese Christians, including some brothers and sisters we've worked with! The Blessing, Japan Let's all remember who, truly, is on the throne! The Lord bless you all! With love and gratitude, Your fellow ministers and team-mates, John (and Etsuko) Martin Working to help people see, know and follow Jesus
