Finally Thursday is here! Proud of my team that went above and beyond the call of duty and helped finish an amazing week! I am a grateful girl-boss!!!

The health and safety of our patients and team are on top of our mind amid concerns about the spread of the Coronavirus illness (COVID-19). The circumstances surrounding the coronavirus are continuing to develop each day, but despite all of our professional knowledge, infection control protocols and engineering and technical mastery, the crisis demands that we remember the fragility of human life. We will continue to protect the health, safety and welfare of each other and the communities we serve.
Dental emergencies can have serious consequences if you don't act quickly. Would you know what to do? Check out our latest blog post to find out!
My team and I are lucky to have rare access to N95 respirators during this COVID-19 environment. We only use them during oral surgical emergencies. The reason being, we can’t increase our chances of becoming infected by each exposure even by taking the highest preventive measures. The N95 respirator blocks at least 95% of airborne particles to reach our face, mouth and nose, while still allowing respiration through the microscopically porous shell. This design protects us... versus the flimsier, looser-fitting surgical masks. If you’re a submicron particle, it’s quite the journey through there. The filters can block invaders as small as 0.3 microns, or about 1/100th the thickness of a human hair. The virus is smaller than that, at about 0.125 microns, but it often travels within larger particles when an infected person coughs or sneezes. As always, we are committed to the highest standard of infection control and patient care in our periodontal and dental implant practice. Be safe and be well, Dr Hakimi and Team
March Gum Disease Awareness: On behalf of the California Society ( CSP) of Periodontists, I wanted to encourage everyone in the dental profession to be prepared for the upcoming March Gum Disease Awareness! Post something ( personal and/or educational) about this chronic disease! Post a pic of yourself brushing flossing, anything about gum/perio disease! ... We hope to get a huge social media presence of our allied health, DA, RDA, RDAEF, RDH, and dentists ! Our society was incredibly influential to introduce a legislative resolution to the California senate in recognizing March as The Gum Disease Month! #FightGumDisease, #CSP4GumHealth please share or repost during the month of March!

Over 85% of American adults live with gum disease and most don’t even know it. If left untreated, the consequences go beyond loss of teeth. Gum disease has been linked to major systemic illnesses including heart disease, stroke, certain cancers, diabetes and even stillbirths.
