Craig Hardinger, Regional Executive Director of NextGen, posted this today to his church. Please read this and be challenged. Good morning Christian family! Today’s online gathering @arcadechurch was pre-recorded several days ago - before George Floyd was killed and the riots began. At this point it seems the world is blowing up with a rage and fear that always shows itself in violence. My social media brothers and sisters in Christ have already articulated the appropriate re...sponses against the scourge of this ever present racism. But to be clear: Any ideology, belief or cultural norm that encourages one people group to flourish on the backs of another is morally, socially and spiritually wrong. Period. End of discussion. No dialogue necessary. What we saw with George Floyd’s death and the subsequent rioting should instill in all believers everywhere a righteous indignation that manifests itself in speaking to the obvious racial injustice that has been around for centuries. Yet, at the same time, exhibiting the fruit produced by the Spirit and identified as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Galatians 5:22,23). Such lives can only be lived under the rulership of King Jesus and by the power of his Spirit that he has given to all who believe. If ever there was time for the Church to exhibit the resolve, courage and love of our Master - it is now! See more
