Tuesdays Word Of Life: Don’t pick on people, jump on their failures, criticize their faultsunless, of course, you want the same treatment. That critical spirit has a way of boomeranging. It’s easy to see a smudge on your neighbor’s face and be oblivious to the ugly sneer on your own. Do you have the nerve to say, ‘Let me wash your face for you,’ when your own face is distorted by contempt? It’s this whole traveling road-show mentality all over again, playing a holier-than-thou part instead of just living your part. Wipe that ugly sneer off your own face, and you might be fit to offer a washcloth to your neighbor. (Matthew 7:1-5 MSG)

John 6:66 Because of what Jesus said, many of his disciples turned their backs on him and stopped following him. 67. Jesus then asked his twelve disciples if they also were going to leave him. 68. Simon Peter answered, Lord, there is no one else that we can go to! Your words give eternal life. 69. We have faith in you, and we are sure that you are God's Holy One. *Many times the truth is just too big of a pill for most peoples egos, pride, and self-righteousness to swallow..., but Jesus informs us in John 8:32 that the truth is like medicine. It heals, It delivers,and it changes (sets free). I have discovered that it is easier for a person to accept putting on a mask, than to admit they need an extreme makeover. Our text this morning says and suggest that because of what Jesus said, many turn their backs on Him, because their hearts where never really with or in him . They were only following Him for what they could get from Him, and not for what they saw in Him. The sad reality is, that in this life you & I will encounter people who want to attach themselves to you based on what they believe they can gain from being around you, but do not authentically love you based on what they see in you. In others words everybody who's rolling with you, is not necessarily walking with you, but don't you worry, because God will never let you down, turn His back on you, or leave you hanging ..He is the only one who's really been keeping you.
