Today is Election Day. Let us pray for all those voting today, those who have already voted, the electoral process, and those who are not able to vote. If you are able, please join us for our virtual "Holy Hangout" zoom gathering tonight at 7pm to pray and be in community with one another. Message us if you need more information or if you're on our My New Hope Pres mailing list, you should have received information and the Zoom link this morning. We are praying for you today and we will be standing with you today, tomorrow and into our future together. You matter. Your vote matters.

Today is day 2 of our Election Week of prayers. Today we pray for beloved community and to remember that we must be devoted to one another in love. While the world would try to divide us, let us walk together towards justice, compassion and caring for one another. Please take a moment from your day to meditate on Romans 12:9-12 and pray with us today.

Please join us at My New Hope Pres for a time of prayer and unity during what we know will be a challenging election week for so many. Beginning tomorrow, we will have a scriptural meditation and prayer each day as we enter into election week shared on this page and on our church Facebook & Instagram sites, as well as by e-mail through our church mailing lists. We urge those of you eligible to make a voting plan, vote and pray. Let us come together as people of faith during t...his season for our nation and communities. On Tuesday, election night, there will be a time to gather and pray together (virtually) at our Holy Hangout and on Thursday, those who are local can come to our weekly prayer walk where we will also continue to lift our country and communities up in prayer. We love you. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. And most importantly, you matter. See more

Tonight, we mourn the passing of Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. We pray for her family, loved ones, and community, for our country and for our democracy. We honor her legacy by continuing to stand for justice. Justice Ginsburg was Jewish and passed away today, on Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year. According to Jewish tradition, a person who dies on Rosh Hashanah is a tzadik, a person of great righteousness. May her memory continue to be a blessing to us.

Friends, we are reeling from the news of the shooting of another Black man, Jacob Blake, a 29-year old father, at the hands of police in Kenosha, Wisconsin. According to multiple reports and video, Mr. Blake was shot in the back, walking away from police towards his vehicle, after breaking up a fight. After surgery last night, Mr. Blake was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit where he is listed in serious condition. We will not share the video or news coverage so as not to... bring further trauma to our community, however, we will share this picture of Mr. Blake so we that you can have him and his family in your heart as you pray for his recovery and the reckoning of our nation with the unnecessary use of force by some law enforcement officers and the epidemic of anti-Blackness that continues to rage in our society #wecantbreathe #Blacklivesmatter: https://twitter.com/SarahThamer/status/1297715131745525765 See more
