‘Twas a great, productive week for our youth. Some completed their program while some got shopping done . Some went hiking while some went fishing. Our hearts ache again. We lost another young life last week, Nayeli Pastrana Jimenez. Earlier today, we were able to honor her life w/ a few of her friends and family and our New Hope For Youth staff. Nayeli was full of life and was always down to ride, no matter what. Her smile and presence will be heavily missed on the van rides to field trips and at home visits. Thank you to our middle school staff for allowing us to share this beautiful moment with you all. Continued prayers to Nayeli’s family and loved ones. Prayers of strength and comfort for the days ahead.

This year was a challenging year for some of us financially, academically, mentally, and especially emotionally as we’ve lost young lives in 2020. Yet we are SO PROUD of our community for enduring these storms with such determination and strength, though it may have been difficult some days. May you continue to grow through every lesson ahead. New Hope for Youth is dedicated to serving and reaching out to all gang impacted as well as at-risk youth, young adults, their families, and the community. Our services are through educational programs, individuals, and family care. We support and resource opportunities that support a healthy, positive, and productive lifestyle. ... We strive to provide hope and assistance for our youth and their families. Even if we don’t have what they need at the moment, our goal is to connect them to a resource that does.

We love and miss you, Chito!

We are deeply saddened by the unfortunate news we received this past weekend that another one of our youth has passed. Crystal Chito Alvarez was full of life. She always greeted our staff with her kindness and her sweet personality was powerful. It’s hard to have a bad day after speaking to Chito. She set the atmosphere with her huge smile and big heart. You are loved and missed by many, Chito. You showed us how to maintain joy in sticky situations. For that, we thank you! (Our prayers and condolences to the family and friends of Chito. )
