Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day. May we all take time today to remember and honor #memorialday
I would recommend New Existence to anyone who is seriously struggling to get back on their feet and want a new life in this beautiful world of recovery. You will get everything and more out of what you put into it. We also had a lot of fun doing a bunch of fun outside activities as a group along the way! Great friends and great memories made :) - Client Testimonial
A friendly reminder for those who have come so far to smile big at what you’ve accomplished, and for those just beginning, keep fighting. It’s hard, but it’s worth it. #wedorecover
"In joining forces through One Mind, Brandon and Hunter hope to build a strong community that understands recovery is possible." Yes, it is! This is a great read to kick off Mental Health Awareness Month this May.
It’s a lifestyle. #stayactive #staysober
New Existence was my 7th rehab facility in 5 years. It was also my last recovery facility. Each road to recovery is unique, but each should lead to a life of being clean and sober. I attended New Existence in June of 2017. I wanted to spend my birthday clean and sober. After one week and the day after my birthday, I relapsed. I was done. I had to meet with the owner to determine what I wanted to do and discuss my options. After talking to the owner, Dylan, and hearing his ro...ad to recovery, I decided I wanted to try again. Dylan and the staff truly encouraged me and showered me with love and kindness that I had never felt in any other rehab facility. I finally felt ready to leave and by this time, I was family, and many of my brothers and sisters at New Existence didn’t want to see me go. I am proud to say that I have been clean and sober over 2 years. I have a lot of respect and admiration for Dylan, his staff, and fellow clients. I owe my success to New Existence. Thank you Dylan and everyone at New Existence, I have finally been set free from my drug addiction. Although these days are a bit scary, I can face them with a clear and sober mind. I love you guys. This month’s employee spotlight is Nick, our Executive Director! Nick explains how his experience drives him to continue to help others: Getting sober was one of the hardest things I ever had to do, but I eventually realized I had to in order to have any kind of meaningful life. My experience in this field is that many people in recovery feel isolated, alone, and disconnected by their sobriety. And I understand that because I used to feel the same way. But the truth is, sobr...iety actually brings people together. There is a community of sober people out there supporting one another, so I try to share this by helping everyone who comes into treatment feel part of a good family. Feeling connected to clean and sober people is a fundamental beginning to a new life, so at New Existence, our goal is to create opportunity to feel for that connection. See more

Others are often only able to help us as much as we are willing to help ourselves.
This month In-N-Out will match donations to their Slave2Nothing Foundation 3-to-1 during the month of October It’s refreshing to see more and more addiction awareness being brought to light by local businesses and cooperations! In-N-Out burger, located here in Huntington Beach and throughout California as well as in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Texas, and Oregon, created this foundation to not only start conversations about substance abuse but to raise money to help those suffering from addiction. Visit a local In-N-Out, enjoy a burger, and learn more about how you can help. Check out @slave2nothingfoundation for more information. WE DO RECOVER.

Music is an outlet, whether you’re making it or listening to it. Many artists in the industry are in recovery and use music as a therapeutic release. Often, the general public doesn’t even realize some of the songs out there are actually about addiction and sobriety. Share a song that resonates with you either by reminding you that you’re not alone in this or by uplifting you and getting you motivated to keep on going. You never know who out there may need to hear it.

We feel like it’s important to try things out of your comfort zone sometimes. Branching out by trying new things is important as we begin to build a new life of healthy fulfillment in sobriety. That’s why we create opportunities for clients to participate in outings and activities that make them feel alive, such as this recent rafting trip!

Stay Sober. Go Live.
According to Pascal, we fear the silence of existence, we dread boredom and instead choose aimless distraction, and we can’t help but run from the problems of our emotions into the false comforts of the mind. This leads to bad habits and unhealthy methods of escape. We need to stop distracting ourselves from ourselves because it inhibits growth. Get to know you. Don’t be afraid of the silence and instead start listening to it and learning from it. When we become comfortable being uncomfortable, we create opportunity to do better and be better. #progressnotperfection #growthmindset
The gyms may be closed again and we may be back to home workouts and outdoor activities but that doesn’t mean that exercise is any less important to our recovery. From reducing anxiety to increasing endorphins, physical health benefits our mental health in many ways. Share you favorite home workout or outdoor activity in the comments below for those who may need some suggestions and motivation during this difficult time. #wearenotalone
