New Creation HB 31.10.2020

In Mark 10 we learn about a successful, law-abiding man who came to Jesus and asked what he must do to inherit eternal life. When Jesus told him to sell all he had, give to the poor and follow Him, the man walked away sorrowful. It seems this man enjoyed his self-made life and wasn't thrilled about giving it all up to follow and be dependent upon Jesus. Jesus boldly declares in Mark 10:15, "Whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter i...t." How are children different than the rich man? Children are fully aware of their dependence upon someone else to take care of them. They are vulnerable and weak and don't mind crying out to their parents for all of their needs. If we want to be part of the kingdom of God, we must be humble enough to allow King Jesus to claim us as dependent upon Him. Join us LIVE on Sunday at the link below as we discover the importance and freedom of declaring that we are "Claimed Dependent" by Jesus. God bless you all and hope to see you online! https://www.youtube.com/watch

On Sunday we are going to look at the famous, and to some the infamous, passage of Mark 10:1-12 where Jesus is tested by the Pharisees on the subject of divorce. As we’ll see, in typical Jesus fashion, instead of getting into a discussion about their heart for divorce, Jesus uses their test as an opportunity to reveal God’s heart for marriage. I don’t think this passage could come to us at a better time. Because of the quarantine, we are in the midst of one of the most intere...sting times for relationships. I’ve heard therapists mention how this is a unique situation for marriages, claiming it has the potential to cause very positive or very negative changes. One of the results of everything being put on pause is that it forces us to take a closer look at ourselves and our marriages, to reevaluate our current state and what is most important to us. This is a great example of how God can use a terrible situation to work something good out in our lives if we allow Him to. In order to accomplish that in our marriages, Jesus wants to take our attention off of our sinful concerns and instead put it on God’s perfect will for marriage. Join us LIVE on Sunday at 10am at the link below as we learn about Marriage in the Garden. God bless you all and hope to see you then! https://newcreationhb.com/church-online Design: Sue Todd Illustration

Join us Sunday at 10am at the link below as we open Mark 9:38-50 and discover how "Humility Solves Sectarianism". A sectarian is one who strictly follows the doctrines of a sect or denomination. As a result, they often look down at others who don't do exactly the same as them. Unfortunately, sectarianism is alive and well in the worldwide church today and is doing its part in hindering harmony in the house of God. How does Jesus respond to sectarianism? He says, "Don't forbid... him, for he who is not against us is on our side." This is a very important message for the church today in light of this pandemic. There has never been a time like now when the church needs to work with one another, hand in hand, in furthering the kingdom of God. https://newcreationhb.com/church-online

The GOAT is an acronym often used today, mostly in sports, to refer to The Greatest Of All Time. Here are a few quotes from athletes considered the GOAT: There is no ‘I’ in ‘Team’, but there is in ‘Win’." -Michael Jordan... We all know who the real number one is. Quite frankly, I’m the best in the world. -Serena Williams If you are first you are first. If you are second, you are nothing. -Pele I’m not the greatest, I'm the double greatest. -Muhammed Ali Just as these quotes help us get into the minds of some of the greatest athletes of all time, the text we will be covering on Sunday will help get us into the mind of Jesus, the true GOAT. In order to help us learn what true greatness looks like (and does’t look like) He is going to share with us the greatest message of all time, He is going to show us the greatest fail of all time, and He is going to give us the greatest example of all time. Join us LIVE on Sunday at 10am for church online at the link below and invite your friends and family members along as well!
