Tomorrow's message is: The Perpetrator of the Preeminent Dan 8 Here are some of the cross-references I will be sharing. 2 Pet 3:3-4... Ac 2:17 ‘And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams; Gal 4:4 But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, 2Ti 3:1-8 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Heb 1:2-4 but in these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world. Therefore, we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have continued with us. But they went out, that it might become plain that they all are not of us. Jude 18 They said to you, In the last time there will be scoffers, following their own ungodly passions.

I’ve been thinking about the church and the slow response of God’s people to returning to in-person worship. Many pastors are saying they are seeing just 25%~35...% of their members attend worship. Question: Have you become too comfortable with not attending church in-person? What other areas of your walk have you sacrificed. Can I challenge you with this thought? Flight from Christ into Christless leisure makes the soul parched. Piper First, the freedom not to attend based upon concerns for COVID was 100% valid. But, now, maybe you need to prayerfully consider getting vaccinated to eliminate that fear. I believe we really need each other. We need to get back on track and get reconnected with our church family. How has this year affected other areas of your walk? Have you felt it also acceptable At times to skimp on prayer and maybe even neglect the word. Trust me when we do we pay with: shallowness, powerlessness, vulnerability to sin, preoccupation with unimportant things, superficial relationships, and a frightening loss of interest in worship all together. May I caution you of this dangerous destination that can and will greatly impact the quality of our lives. Let’s recalibrate our hearts and refocus ourselves on reconnecting with the faith family. Don’t let the coming of summer cause your soul to become parched. Summer is meant to be a foretaste of heaven, not a substitute. Hope to see you Sunday.

How does Daniel approach God? e. How does God respond? 2. What is the MAIN event in Dan 9? 3. Make a list of everything that will be done within the 70 weeks of Dan 9:24-27 a. Who is speaking in the passage and to whom? 4. From Dan 9:24-27- a. To what or whom do these 70 weeks pertain? b. When do the 70 weeks start? c. What happens during the first 69 weeks? d. What happens after 62 weeks? e. Who destroys the city and sanctuary? f. What city and sanctuary are destroyed? g. How does the end of the city and the sanctuary come? h. What happens to "the end"? i. Who is the "he" that makes "a strong covenant with many?" j. How long does he make this covenant? k. What happens for the half of the one "week"? l. What or who comes "on the wing of abominations"? m. What happens as a result? To whom? 5. Tell me whether 70 weeks means literally 70 weeks or something else? 6. Weeks occurs 20 times in the OT and indicates a period of 7-seven days, seven weeks, seven years. 7. Read Daniel 9:1-3 again. a. What did Daniel read that caused him to so diligently seek the Lord? Where did he read it? Cross-reference with Jeremiah 25:7-14 8. What do you learn from Lev 25:1-7, 26:33-35, 2 Chron 36:17-21 9. Who are "the people" of the prince who is to come that destroy the city and sanctuary? Look up Luke 21:20-24 and record what you learn. a. When was Jerusalem destroyed and by who? 10. Who is "the prince who is to come"? The one who makes a strong covenant for a week (seven years) and then in the middle of the week puts an end to sacrifice and offering? Look up the following verses: a. Dan 7:25 b. 1 John 2:18;4:3 c. 2 Thes 2:1-12 d. Any parallel here? 11. Where do you put the 70th week or final week (7 years) of Daniel on God's Plan of the Ages?

Ok real struggle... I’m learning & growing through reading about the existence of racism in our country & specifically within the church. Why read about racism... and religion? 1. It was NEVER ONCE mentioned or taught in my Bible College or Seminary. I spent 14 years matriculating with a BS in Sociology & Christian Education, Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership & Doctorate of Ministry. Not one class or section on race and it’s polarizing impact on Christianity. 2. I love the church. My concern for the church and for the well-being of its people, motivates my exploration of its complicity in racism. I’m not sure what the future holds but I know who holds the future. Read this book. It chronicles how White Evangelicals championed Trump as their political Savior for the moral majority and religious rights agenda.
