For everyone's SA CAPT(Ret.) Rick Woolard has been working tirelessly to have a SEAL Monument built on the Boardwalk in Virginia Beach. His vision is close to fruition. The dedication ceremony is planned for Memorial Day 2017. A monument to honor the Navy SEALs is overdue, and there is no better place for one than Virginia Beach, where their earliest forerunners came together 75 years ago.... The Navy SEAL Monument will stand proudly for generations in a very public but dignified place where the earliest part of SEAL history began. Visitors from all over the world will see it and learn of their history. Layers of significance will be built into the Monument: - the iconic Naked Warrior statue depicting a WWII Frogman ready for a combat mission - a Living Beach, with sand from all over the world where SEALs and their forerunners have served and fought - a gold star for every SEAL or predecessor, and a paw print for every SEAL K9 killed in the line of duty - insignias of the major SEAL commands - laser etchings of scenes from the SEAL story - historical summary of the exploits of SEALs and their antecedents from 1942 to now, with room for expansion - a Donor Stone listing all contributors. The bottom line it won’t get built without your donations; more info and how to donate are in the attached brochure linked below. If for some reason you're unable to open the brochure, but want to donate, you can send a check to the Navy SEAL Museum. In the comment section write Virginia Beach Monument. We are close. but this project will need your help to get it over the finish line. https://sealvet.com//170206-Navy-SEAL-Monument-Brochure-8.
