Thank you FoodBusinessNews for mentioning us in your recent article! "Sweet and savory pies is what Raised Gluten Free, Humboldt County, Calif., is about. Founded by Rosa Dixon and Milia Lando, the products are also free of dairy, eggs, nuts and peanuts. The company is rolling out vegan quiche, which is made with organic tofu and spinach, and a vegetable pot pie. Both rely on a blend of gluten-free flours to provide a flaky, pastry crust. The heat-and-serve meals are sold frozen." https://www.foodbusinessnews.net//18501-staking-a-claim-wi

Have you ever made overnight oats?? Do you include oats in your diet? Oats are one of the most confusing foods in the gluten-free community. Naturally, oats are gluten-free, but because of common farming practices in the US, many oat crops are either nearby wheat fields or processed in the same mills as wheat, which poses a high risk of cross-contamination. Most oats on the shelves in grocery stores are not safe for a person with celiac disease to consume. However, a few ...suppliers and manufacturers offer oats products sourced under a "gluten-free purity protocol." While there is no standardized definition of a purity protocol for oats, the best practices for "pure oats" include safeguards to minimize gluten presence when harvesting, storing, processing, and manufacturing products. e Keep in mind, every person with celiac disease will have various boundaries with the foods they choose to consume. Some people with Celiac disease will react negatively to oats regardless of the purity of the oats because the avenin protein in oats has a similar amino-acid structure to that of gluten. So, can a person with celiac disease safely eat oats? It depends! When developing Raised Gluten Free products recipes, our co-founders chose to exclude oats to ensure that every Celiac can safely eat and enjoy our baked goods! Here's how you make an overnight oatmeal bowl: Ingredients: - Small jar/container - Oats (to fill up to half the jar) - Fruit of your choice (to fill the rest of the container) - Sweetener - Liquid of choice Preparation: Place ingredients in the jar and top of with liquid. Place in the fridge overnight. It keeps for up to a week! Head over to our blog to read the full article and recommendations on brands and resources compiled by our photographer, Kylie Bressoud. https://www.raisedglutenfree.com/sin/overnight-oatmeal-bowl

Applesolutely delicious! Did you know An apple tree needs energy from 50 leaves to produce one fruit no idea how they figured that out. More fun facts? Ok. There are 2,500 varieties of apples grown in the United States and 7,500 varieties grown worldwide. Believe it or not, most apples are still picked by hand! An average-sized apple would have around 100 calories, is free of fat, sodium, and cholesterol, and is an excellent source of fiber. Last one? Apples are a member... of the rose family. This concludes the educational component of this post. Have a lovely #Friday and an EXCELLENT #weekend full of fun and relaxation. #itstheweekendbaby #fridaypieday #piedayeveryday #glutenfreebakery #glutenfreelifestyle #glutenfreefoodie #glutenfreetreats #glutenfreeveganfood #plantbaseddiet #glutenfreedairyfree #glutenfreebaking #glutenfreefollowme #plantbasedlifestyle #plantbasedfoodie #plantbasedfamily #veganglutenfreebaking #glutenfreedessert #fruitpie #applepie #veganceliac #veganglutenfree #ilovepie #pieovercake#anappleadaykeepsthedoctoraway #whatsfordessert #memorialdayweekend2021
