Today is the birthday of a friend who is a very courageous dancer so I think of her as I reflect on the cards.

The decision that we make leads to a dependable bond with a close friend or family member, maybe our partner or primary support. The Hermit sometimes hesitates to get involved in human interactions so The Two of Pentacles represents that choice. The Six of Pentacles shows the connection to this person to be reliable and grounded, something for which to be thankful.

Moving into the present we are in the process of letting go of those things that are not working for us. Growth requires change and that can challenge our need for stability. Sometimes change happens in ways that we don’t want. We must rely on the structure and routine that we have built for ourselves and possibly turn to our loved ones if we need help or support. Connections with what we loved as children continues to nurture us if we open ourselves to it. Or we can share our innocent self from childhood with those whom we trust and love. The bond that we develop will be long lasting and central to our understanding. This could be a deepening of our connection to our unconscious.
