Some thoughts for Ash Wednesday... The act of smudging ashes from burnt palms from Palm Sunday is an alchemical practice. By calcinating the palms to ash, you a...re releasing the secret salts- the hidden manna, the "stone that the builders rejected". The palms formed the 'path' to the potential of the New Jerusalem.
