Aww gotta love these two!
Have you seen a house rented or fumigated? One of the reasons why a home or structure would need to be fumigated is to eradicate wood boring beetles infestation. These little buggers bore (chew) through the wood and turn the inside of wood members into powder. Thus qualifying as a Wood Destroying Organism that can compromise structural integrity of wood members in a home. There are a few things every homeowner can do to prevent and minimizes the chances of having an i...nfestation of wood boring beetles in your home or office: 1. Proper ventilation of confined spaces. One is the more common places to find beetles is under a home or as we like to call it the (crawl space). It is important to keep such areas of your home like the crawl space, attic, utility closets well ventilated. This will insure that the moisture content in the wood members is below 20%. Proper drainage and the absence of plumbing leaks also helps insure a dry home. This is really important as high moisture attracts wood destroying organisms such as beetles, termites, fungus and dry rot. 2. Keeping your home clear of foliage contact. Beetles, termites and other wood destroying organisms are here for a reason. They serve an important role in our eco system help dead wood decompose by infecting or chewing on it. Well since most of our homes are built out of wood framing (dead trees) it’s important to keep them protected. Cutting back tree branches and shrubs away from the structure walls up to 12 inches will help ventilate the home exoskeleton. It also helps to keep fire wood or spare lumber stashed away from the home walls as they attract beetles. 3. Periodic inspection. A periodic termite inspection is advised. If the infection or infestation is present it is much easier and more economical to tackle the issue early on. In many cases homeowners will not have their home inspected until they are getting it ready for sale. Too often to find out that they have a costly issue with a beetle infestation that they did not budget for. A periodic pest inspection will identify any issues conducive to a beetle infestation. Thus helping prevent an infestation altogether. For more indignation please visit us online at www.nahspro.com See more

How long has this leak been going on? Well, no one really knows, it was discovered by our home and termite inspectors. It is recommended to have your home inspected every two years so you could identify and repair issues in the beginning stages. Standing water under the home from sewage could cause dry rot and fungus damage to the framing and attract termites and beetles. To schedule, your routine termite inspection call us today at 916-481-0268 or schedule online at https://nahspro.com/contact-us/
